I rode our light rail this morning to see where it ends. Back when they planned it all out so many years ago, the ending place was at Metrocenter Mall, which was thriving at that time, I guess.

Re the measles discussion yesterday:  I wouldn't bother getting titers. I'd just get the vaccination.

Jane asked if I was vaccinated as a child.

I have no idea. I assume so. We got shots at school sometimes. I have no idea what they were for. I have no records.

I had to prove on paper to the school nurse, so the easiest thing to do was just the another shot.

This one on wineries in the Hill Country

Will you need to travel and explore all of the wineries?

Not all, but some.

What a tough job you will have ;)

Thanks. She was in hospice, so it was expected. But it was a shock when they told us last year what it was. Young people shouldn't die.

Will something nice go back up?  I just looked it up and answered my own question.  It sounds nice, and a good place for the rail stop.

Oh yes.....we got ALL the shots and vaccinations....and the Polio Vaccine was a big deal when I was in the first grade.  We wanted it.....we knew it was for our protection.

My father had polio when he was growing up and he had a limp for his whole life, which I never really noticed.  Once, when I was in the fifth grade, I was with him in the local IGA and saw a friend in my class and we spoke.

The next Monday at school, the friend asked me:  "How long has your Dad been crippled?"

I was shocked because I never thought of him that way....he just had a limp.....it was an eye opener.

If you had measles you likely wouldn't need to be vaccinated.  Craig has issues with vaccinations so I think for him doing a titer would be good, not that I will be able to convince him to do so.

I remember getting the polio sugar cube. It was in the high school auditorium. I recognized the place when I was a freshman. There was a big tile mural on the front of the auditorium.

You probably were plus you got that second vaccination.  I expect you are good for life.

Especially if you didn't have your childhood records.

My father decided I could get my vaccinations with the rest of the kids at school instead of him giving them to me.  It saved him from stabbing me or making me stand out from the rest of the kids ;D

I find it shocking that the kid thought a limp made your father a cripple.  Fifth grade seems old enough to know the difference.
