My health has taken a turn for the worse lately, so I’m not able to post very often.

I do like to keep up with the notes and everyone’s posts, so I’m reading, even though you may not see me often.

Today I saw some people doing work on the lot across the street. They had a kind of dirt-sifting screen. So I realized they were archaeologists who have to come check out any property under development to make sure there are not tribal remains. I thought, hey, that’s a story my readers might enjoy, so I went and interviewed them. They were so nice, a girl and guy fresh out of George’s alma mater, Western Washington U., working their dream gig.

How interesting! Did they find anything  of note?

I wish! Then nobody could build across the street from me!

My in laws, remember when they both went into the hospital a couple weeks back? They’re still there. Just as we thought the mom’s strength might be strong enough for release, she fell down today.

Been reading the kids the first Hardy Boys book. It’s probably been revised since its original edition. I enjoy the milieu and detailed writing, but the mystery is ridiculously convoluted.

My late brother must’ve had 20 of those hardcovers. This is my first time reading one.

The kids are enjoying it though. The evil “Hobo Johnny” has just trapped the boys in a water tower.

I certainly enjoyed the Hardy Boys/Nancy Drew mysteries on TV.

Pamela Sue Martin. Where’s she been the last 30 years? I had a little crush back in the day.

One other was into Parker.

We had to own 2 copies of Shaun’s debut LP so they wouldn’t fight over the “kissable” poster.

Intermission.

What young mystery novels did the mystery fans of HHW enjoy?

I was a fan of the Happy Hollisters, myself. I still have some of those, passed down from cousins.

“Alfred Hitchcock’s Three Investigators” was a good kids series I’m surprised hasn’t made its way back into the culture.

In reading the Hardy Boys books aloud to my kids, this shameless ham encounters one problem.

There is no discernible difference between Joe and Frank Hardy. So I can’t use a distinguishing voice for either. It simply does not matter.

There’s still 93 ahead of me in line for Ina Garten’s memoir.

Yikes! :o

I do have, aside from one of my sisters’ Shaun Cassidy records, an LP by a ‘60s pop group that co-opted the Hardy Boys name.

Had a nice 2 hour zoom visit with the kids.
And a nice hour long in person visit with WFO before that

That's great, Vixmom!

She really liked him while growing up back in the 70s ;) AND they have the same birthday of September 27 (different year, of course).

On that Shaun debut LP, is the song “Morning Girl,” a remake of the hit by the Neon Philharmonic. A group really a vehicle for one interesting cat named Tupper Saussy.

Watching our chances of retirement disappear daily, we’ve lost several years of savings in the past few days
