I just treated myself to a loaded potato pancake at Juniors

What is a loaded potato pancake and what is Juniors?  There was a wonderful deli in West L.A. called Juniors but it is gone now.

Juinors is an iconic cheescake bakery/ diner, the first  was in Brooklyn and there's one on 45th

I was thinking about Iris today and came here to ask if it was possibly from the radiation


All my worse side effects from the radiation occurred in the month after I completed the course of treatment

That doesn't seem fair when you think you are done with it

Radiation stays in your body for some time , that's how it destroys the cancer

Larry and Vixmom, I had a terrible reaction to the radiation and ended up in the emergency room.

I was complaining about a painful rash for a week, and the doctors did not take me seriously until it spread everywhere, out of control.

I had to cancel the rest of my radiation appointments, and am suffering greatly.

The meeting went well.  Not too much happened...we mainly just went over some housekeeping things.  The actors start the music rehearsal on April 7th, and the first actual read-through will be the 21st.

I was complaining about a painful rash for a week, and the doctors did not take me seriously until it spread everywhere, out of control.

I had to cancel the rest of my radiation appointments, and am suffering greatly.

Oh, no!  It's terrible when doctors just dismiss their patients' concerns.

Got the car back and thankfully it had stopped raining just prior to me walking back there. Turns out, it's the sensors or something in the front seat belts that triggered this. It's safe to drive, but it will occasionally give me the error message. They'll need to replace the front seat belts, program them, etc. Cost? Over two grand. Not today, Josephine.

Today, I was able to get an electrician and he fixed the problem with the power!  For only $600 and change!

I'm glad the problem is fixed though sorry for the cost.

A well-known accounting principle is that if you can get the exact same service for $600 instead of $1,300, that's a good deal.

It wouldn't have been the same service.  His $1300 estimate was based on what possibly could've been the worst situation, then he only charges what he actually finds.

At least he let you know what could happen.  Did you learn anything watching him fix it?  I wouldn't have but then I am not handy like you are.

No, not really.  He took off the electric panel that covers all the switches (not just the door) and that was kind of interesting, but there's electricity...not going there at all!

Every night lately, I watch the first half hour of "The Rachel Maddow Show" and the first half hour of Lawrence O'Donnell which follows Maddow.

As you may know, Rachel is on nightly for the first 100 days of Trump's presidency.

You also may know that MSNBC took a major viewership drop after the election, but has had a surge of viewers, mostly young adults, since the inauguration.

At any rate, I watch the first half hour of each show because it is there that they say their piece on the events of the day.  The second half of each one's show is usually interviews with guests, elaborating on some aspect of the day's events.   I find their "monologues" interesting and intelligent.

Tonight, O'Donnell's first half hour was full of fury over Trump illegally using  federal property (the White House) to promote Tesla for his dear benefactor Elon Musk who has lost billions recently on Tesla's decline on the stock market and all the violence at Tesla dealers.

What, O'Donnell wondered, do the workers at Ford and other American companies think about Trump's singling out Tesla for a presidential, yet illegal, endorsement?

Time will tell.

What I truly enjoy the most about O'Donnell is that he says exactly what he, and I, think about Trump.  He never shies away from calling Trump the stupidest man to ever occupy the White House.   Tonight, he eviscerated Trump's comments about the tariffs and stock market saying Trump would have gotten an F at the Wharton Business School were he still a student there.

I agree with what you said about O'Donnell.   He's great and I enjoy watching his vids on YouTube.

DR Iris, it's always good to hear from you. I'm sorry you've had a bad health turn. I hope it's just a wild reaction to the radiation and not something physical. About two weeks before I finished my radiation, I had several days of depression, major anxiety, rage, crying jags, a whole gamut of awful moments, and the doctors and counselors claimed it was all one sytmptom of potential radiation mind and body games.

Larry, I had a severe reaction to the radiation. Horrible, painful rash, which the doctors did not take seriously.
I kept asking them for relief, but they ignored me until it got so bad that I had to go to the emergency room. It has spread everywhere, but Hopkins doctors are annoyed when you dare to ask questions, so now I have to cancel the treatments.
It’s very depressing, and I’m not getting better yet.
