I've just watched one movie, Die Hard. I'd never seen it as I am generally not an action movie fan, but this is a classic for good reason.

Kind of.  We only turn on the hot water when we really need it.  We had to empty the hose for our water softener and turn that off.  We always turn the water off when we leave town so, as long as no one above us floods us, we should be fine while we are gone.
