As for runnning time restrictions on major motion picture releases... It all comes down to money. If a movie runs more than three hours, there's only a certain amount of times a theatre can show it one day. So even if each show sells out, it can only make so much money due to the running time. Remember the Kenneth Branagh
Hamlet "marathon"? It was sent out as a limited release - and the company knew it wouldn't make money, but hoped it would garner enough praise and press to make it worth it's while. *I still remember the cartoon in the New Yorker when that came out: a movie marquee: HAMLET - 1 hour: $6.00, 2 hours: $8.00, 3 hours: $10.00, 4 hours $4.00 ;-) -Or something like that.
In other news....
I'm sorry if my pics caused a temporary problem for other people uploading their pics. -However, it's amazing how many pics of me and food I have from my trip. Although I do have many more pics of the guys auditioning on jet skis and off the diving boards.

Both show went very well today. I was a bit drowsy during both of them - just slept in a bit too much this morning, and couldn't shake the sleep that flitted on my eyes (ah, a John Alder Carpenter reference - anyone get it?). Two more shows tomorrow, and then, thankfully, a day off. I'm even contemplatin
not baking since we have a noon show on Tuesday. I'm thinking I may just do nothing(!) on Monday - which would be a good thing after this opening week. We'll see what happens. It will most likely depend on how much butter I have left in the fridge. Most likely, I'll do a batch or two of cookies - been a while since I've made some almond biscotti - that should suffice.
-And what a nice number of posts to come home to. Took me more than a few minutes to read through all of them.
Well, I think that's it for me for right now...
I'll check back in before I head to bed.. which should be soon tonight.. but it may not be... again, we'll see...
