We finally have a few cabinets & doors up.  So far they look beautiful, however, I discovered the inside of the cabinet I planned to put the dishes in is not the way we ordered it.

Party's finally ended and the last people leaving.  We sent vibes to BK and HHW at around 8:50 Eastern time, but I couldn't get on until now to convey them.

In my world, "live" (note quotations) means I will watch the first airing of a show on a network as it premieres. Just as I did with MEDIUM tonight. I didn't say the show was live, but instead said I was going to watch it "live."

Good episode, too.

The Baron and Baroness were the ONLY things I found worthwhile about CHITTY CHITTY BANG BANG. They stole the show and gave me the only fun the evening generated. Did Marc Kudisch leave the show to do something else. Supposedly, he was going to come back, but now that the show is closing at the end of December, I wonder if he'll come back.

Continued to watch the Five-Star version of THE SOUND OF MUSIC up until network TV time, and I continued to be impressed with its sharpness and color fidelity. Yes, there were isolated shots that were soft, but I remember them being soft in the theater, too. I think Wise deliberately softened some looks of love between Maria and the Captain as they were falling in love, perhaps symbolically but definitely it's always looked like that.

I finally got around to last Thursday night's REUNION. Yes, I've stuck with it. It's not that well in the ratings, so it may not last out the season, but at least in this episode, the person murdered was revealed, and it WASN'T who I was expecting. I was VERY surprised by this revelation.

So, instead of thinking I was going to give up on the show, now it has hooked me for as long as it runs.

Another disappointing episode of HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER. The show is just not clicking for me. It's doing well enough for CBS, so someone obviously likes it, but apart from the "Lemon Law," I didn't find much to recommend in this half hour.

OUT OF PRACTICE had a very, very slow start tonight, too, and for the first half, I thought maybe it was going to be an off-night for the show.

However, things picked up considerably in the second half and once again the show contained three or four really hilarious moments.

I am glad CBS has renewed the show for the rest of the season.

It's a malapropism no matter what world you're living in.

The fact is, you are the only thing "live" when you're watching...whether it's first-run or a video copy.

Everything you watch, you watch "live."

But relish the absurdism.

I know people who insist they're "filming" things when they use their VCRs.   I'm not buying into "their world", either.

;)

Speaking of "All Alone Monday," I put on the soundtrack recording of THREE LITTLE WORDS today and thoroughly enjoyed it. Kalmar and Ruby may not have been as famous as Cole Porter or Jerome Kern, but they did write some catchy tunes.

In anticipation of tomorrow's dvds, I watched the musical numbers of Hugh Jackman's OKLAHOMA!  Gosh, that Will Parker is a cutie.   ;)

Back from my travels - I hadn't eaten all day, so I stopped at McDonald's and got some unhealthy food, which I just wolfed down in a sea of Diet Coke.

Casting session today was callbacks for the two male roles, plus seeing one new person.  I'll say more in the notes, but offers are going out for both roles first thing in the morning.

All talk about rehearsal in the notes, but it went very well, and I think the opening number will be just fine.  I don't ever plan staging in advance, so it's sometimes a bit frustrating while I wait for inspiration to strike, or while I try various things.

Good Evening!  Good Morning!

-Almost five hours of auditions straight, in a row - just one five minute break at 3:00. Whew!  A pretty good turnout, and there were actually some decent folks today.   -And there were also some "scary" folks there today too.  Gotta love 'em.

-Then it was off to a brief dinner with Stuart.  -Sorry DR Jason for "abandoning" you.   And DR elmore - yes, I know, I owe you a phone call.  -And, no, the reading of Tale of Two Cities was not at Ripley-Grier - unless they had it listed under the producer's name (which sometimes happens).

-Then headed back uptown to the apartment.  Packed up the car with the stuff I needed to bring back - including my cooking and baking supplies!

-Then the drive.  Uneventful for the most part.  There were some strange traffic closures right after Baltimore - three of four lanes closed for work.  And the traffic just stopped too for some unknown, unseen reason.

-Made it back home in just about four and a half hours - not bad.  Car is unpacked.  I'm all brushed and flossed.   And since I have rehearsal in six and a half hours...

OH!  It looks like I may be on the National Press Club luncheon broadcast this Saturday.  Molly Smith, the artistic director of Arena Stage, will be the speaker, and they will be featuring a few excerpts from Damn Yankees.  I may or may not be at the keys.  -In any case, I know I'm in for a good lunch - they really do have a wonderful food service operation there.  So...

Where was I?  Oh, yes...

Liaiso...

Umm...

Oh...

Goodnight.

*I shall catch up on the Notes and Posts in the morning and/or evening.

Did we indentify the rest of the TV Guide cover?  Miss Francis!  How silly of me!  Anyone verify if it's Kay Kyser or not?
