And, yes, Roger Bart is a wonderful performer - actor, singer, very good mover.  ;)

-It's just too bad "they" have made him look so "dreary" in those theatre lobby displays for "The Producers" movie.

Well, I still need to take my post-workout shower.  *I was about to jump in the shower when I heard the front door open, so...

Splish! Splash!
I jumped back in the bath!
Well, how was I to know there was a party goin' on!
They was a-splishin' and a'splashin',
Reelin' with the feelin',
Movin' and a'groovin'
Rockin' and a'rollin', yeah!

I'm in one of those obnoxious moods where I will jump on any kind of song cue and roll with it.  Pay no heed.

And Cherry Coke. If it ain't Cherry and out of a fountain, I don't want anything to drink at the movies. I'm sure DR Sandra can appreciate that. :)

 :-*

I didn't get my Cherry Coke this morning because it was so cold, but I regretted that. So I went and got a Cherry Coke after my first class. It was cold but OH SO GOOD. I have to go to the dreaded Dr. C's Chamber of Horrors in a few minutes, and I think I need another Cherry Coke before I go in there. Would the quickie mart people think it was strange if I bought two Cherry Cokes in two hours?

MR BK talking about the Gower Champion book made me start thinking....I know it is dangerous, but.....  Thinking about the mating of director and material.

I don't think I would have liked to see a Fosse-directed HELLO, DOLLY! or even a Michael Bennett DOLLY!  But I might like to see a Gower Champion DREAMGIRLS.

DR Ron: In addition to his performances in YOU'RE A GOOD MAN CHARLIE BROWN and THE PRODUCERS, you may also have seen Roger in the national tours of THE SECRET GARDEN (Dicken), THE WHO'S TOMMY (Cousin Kevin) and HOW TO SUCCEED IN BUSINESS WITHOUT REALLY TRYING (Bud Frump). I believe Roger was a replacement Huck in the original Broadway run of BIG RIVER, as well.

Nope, never saw him before.  Never heard of him before.

He was also in THE STEPFORD WIVES remake last year.

I finshed THE SLIPPER AND THE ROSE this afternoon and it was a mostly lovely experience. This is the restored British version of the show with all the musical numbers intact.

However, what happened near the end of the movie with all the damage running along the right side of the screen! Holy moly! A beautiful DVD experience ruined momentarily by someone scaping emulsion off the film!

That was VERY aggressive stereo surround in the music on the DVD.

Then, I watched LAW & ORDER: CI from last night. About a third of the show was spoken in Spanish and was subtitled making it an unusual episode. Still very effective and a nice twist I didn't see coming.

I shall now be on my way to LACC for production stuff, and then rehearsals.  I probably won't be back until ten, so keep the home fries burning until my returning.

Oddly because I've never heard of the man before this show and I've no reason to expect him to be able to sing.  And even if I had known he was a singer, I'd not have expected that voice...

He also won a Tony Award® for his performance as Snoopy in the 1999 revival/revisal of You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown, that also gave Kristin Chenoweth her Tony Award® for her performance as Sally!

And earlier than that, when the national tour of The Secret Garden came to Seattle, Roger played Dickon and Audra (Ann) McDonald played the Ayah and Amanda Naughton (from "Remember WENN") played Martha!

I just got the new 4-DVD set which includes MIGHTY JOE YOUNG and THE SON OF KONG.  Lord knows when I'll find the time to watch them.

I'm off now to 14th Street and tonight's rehearsal.  Back later.

Our DRJoey appears to have abandoned us to Broadwayworld.com.  I'm hoping he'll realize the error of his ways and return to the fold.

I wonder if they will use that great radio news report in the new KING KONG.

"Kong is climbing the Empire State Building.  That is all."

I love that!  And it's strange that he is called Kong by everybody....although Carl Denham says: "He was a king in his own world...."  And then he has his name up in lights and KING KONG....but he is really just KONG!

In Seattle, the NBC affiliate is King TV (on channel 5).  They have a sister station called Kong (on channel 6)!  Someone has a sense of humor:  TV stations named King and Kong!

Nice picture, JMK!

Tonight, my parents, my sister, my niece and I are having a family portrait taken!  We've taken many pictures over the years, this'll be the first time ever that all five of us have had an official "family portrait."

Oy, Bark Makalor is going to have to delete the upload file again it took me so many times to get it to look fairly correct.   ;D

We got this one free because the church I work for is putting together a pictorial directory for the new rectum rectOR.   ;D  Betsy and I were joking that Zach is doing one hell of an Alfred E. Neuman impersonation.   ;D
