Two Pope movies?  Overkill is the WRONG word I am sure.  Got my networks confused.....oh yes SURVIVOR is on CBS.   :P

Rock em Sock em Pontiffs....hmmmmmm

I believe that OVERKILL would have been about John Paul I.

Der Brucer has found the perfect Christmas gift to give the grandlads: The Dinosaur Musical!

Since it's written by the same guys who wrote A Year With Frog and Toad, it should have some of the same appeal.

He's ordered the tix for ourselves, the lads, and their parents, for early January.

Convincing one of the parents that this was a good thing took a little doing.  Daddy is terrified by big cities, and would much rather take the lads with himself on a safer activity: hunting.

But it's all set now.  We'll be six of us travelling to the land of cheesesteaks, the Liberty Bell, and Mummers on New Years.

The only thing that I'm worried about is how Mommy and Daddy will behave that day.  What if they decide it's time to fight... again.  What if Mommy decides she has to be in total control of everything... again.  (Freaky.)  What if Daddy decides that any restaurant more complicated than McDonald's is, well, too complicated... again.

Oh, bother.

DR Ginny. Just heard we already have 8 1/2 inches of snow on the ground. I'm waiting to hear how much is predicted tomorrow.   I forgot that I'm going to see Brule tomorrow night. They are a Native American Band.  I haven't heard them before, but have heard good things about them. A friend bought 2 tickets at a silent auction and she asked if I'd go with her, so I am.  It's just downtown, not too hard to get to from here. Should be fun.

Well 4 more inches of snow by Saturday morning, low tonight 1 below zero - next week could hit 10-20 below zero!   It's winter all right. I have to say I love it. We haven't had a real winter in at least 5 or 6 years

I think I mentioned posting a link for Anthony's Volkswagen spot. It's a the Volkswagen Web site. Click on this link and you're taken to a site with a picture of a Passat. Click on Launch the Mini-Site Now (or something similar, I don't remember the exact wording), and if Film No. 94 doesn't load and play, click on it (it's a thumbnail of Anthony sideways) and you'll see a 15 second "film" (VW's words) about a safety feature of the new car. You need Flash on your computer to watch it but if you can open those animated greeting cards you probably already have flash installed. You don't need headphones because there is no sound. I wouldn't recommend trying it if all you have is dial up. It takes at least 15 minutes to load. Check out some of the other clips also. There are not yet 120 15 second spots loaded but there are many, many pieces and lots of them are funny.

[Anthony's Volkswagen Spot]

Ben this is so cute! Tell Anthony congrats.

Lost prediction (you heard it here first):  Mark my words:  Echo (Eko?) is going to turn out to be a bad guy, maybe even one of the Others.

Hmmm...I donno.  I am beginning to think that he is a priest

DR MattH,

Summer Stock (the soundtrack) was released on the Rhino Handmade label too!

Oh, yes, I know! That's the CD release to get if one wants the SUMMER STOCK soundtrack.

You should see me when I go outside. I have on my long underwear under my jeans, my Dr. Marten work boots, my scarf wrapped around my face and my hat on so all you can see of my face is my glasses, my winter coat with the hood up over everything else.  And of course my fuzzy gloves. People all smile at me, but I am warm!

DRJANE what a horror story.  Maybe a walkman would have sufficed until summer!  But congrats on a successful JUKEBOX delivery!  At long last.

Still worried about your continued satellite problems.  Someone at your provider should be giving you some assistance with it!!!

Speaking of THE APPRENTICE, after this season is up, the Trump version of the show will disappear until after the Olympics. It is also going to be taken off of Thursday night when it returns.

In January, MY NAME IS EARL/THE OFFICE are moving to Thursday at 9. JOEY is going on hiatus until March (probably to resurface on Tuesday nights), and WILL & GRACE slides into the Thursday at 8 time slot. A new comedy (FOUR KINGS) is being added at 8:30. SCRUBS will be on Tuesdays at 9 starting in January beginning with back to back episodes until the Olympics and then after they're finished, JOEY will come on at 9:30.

DRs RLP & MATTH - Yes I am very aware that THE BARKLEYS OF BROADWAY was an MGM picture and NOT an RKO picture.  I was just relating a story from Virginia's RKO days to illustrate why the dress might be the same but look different in the stills than on the screen.  I guess I didn't make myself clear.

But if I am to blame for LESTAT, I hope the checks start coming in soon.  I can use the money!!!

Today is also Woody Allen's birthday.  TCM had a doc about him on at 8:00, but I clear fell asleep on the sofa at 7:59 and missed it.  I did catch LOVE AND DEATH, one of Woody's very funny movies ("She takes uppers?")

I want to watch Oprah on David Letterman, but I am so sleepy right now that I'm not sure that I will make it.

DR DtM - I watched LOVE AND DEATH too.  It is so very funny.  And I love the music.

We have heard Spanish women all have hot blood.

Well I had mine cooled for the summer.

Since I couldn't watch THE SPY WHO LOVED ME, I put in DR. NO, one of my favorite Bond pictures. I like it because it's one of the least gimmicky of the Bonds, and Connery is at his most handsome.

This was an early DVD transfer, but it still looks OK. I'm sure when the 007 films are remastered for high definition DVDs, they will look even better than they do now.

Does  anyone know when a new episode of Alias will air?  Did I miss it?  Did anyone else hear that they confirmed this is the final season (sorry if I missed any posts)

Also Jennifer Garner just gave birth to a little girl.
