Ooh! I like Donnelly Rhodes too! I had a big crush on him when he was on SOAP way back in the day.
I guess he fulfilled all your ex-con fantasies.  Yep, the bitch is back!

I am starving!  Feed me!

DRFJL, I'm spending Christmas with you and Skip.  what a nice surprise tonight.

Thank God for Demerol.

Most people who spend Christmas with us tend to have taken Demerol when they accepted the invitation.  :)

I didn't know Hugh O'Brian was in THERE'S NO BUSINESS LIKE SHOW BUSINESS!

Shopko has that dvd for $7.50. I should buy it I suppose, having not seen the film since I was a tike.

I really like this movie.  I'd recommend getting it. :D

Hmmm...your liking it (and my LOVING it) aren't really the same things as MBarnum enjoying it.  Of course, it's gaudy and has huge production numbers, which he might love, too...it's hard to say.

Hugh O'Brian has a "bit" as Mitzi Gaynor's fiancee and, later, hubby.  He has a scene or two...nothing major.

If you want PRIME O'Brian, look for "Where Love Has Gone" with Lana Turner.  It's a soaper, for sure, but Hugh is majorly exposed on a beach in something resembling Speedos.

And didn't BK produce the Varèse Sarabande reissue of the soundtrack?

What soundtrack - No Business?  If so, no, Nick Redman produced it.  I just hovered.

I didn't get snaps of Diana Canova or Hugh, sadly.

Trivia: On One Day At A Time, it got down to two actors for the role Lembeck everntually played - him, and another fellow, right down to the wire, and they didn't make the choice until the day before filming.  If MacKenzie Phillips had had her way, it would not have been Lem.  Who was the other actor?

Frigid here this morning.

Try 16 below zero, that's what we had when I got up this morning...not wind chill that was something like 25 below.  Actually I don't mind it. If you put on enough clothes it's not that bad. I just get really tired going in and out of the cold, which I had to do a number of times today

How's this for a twist of fate? My roommate, who has given up "the biz" and is moving back to Dallas in a couple of weeks, just got a job offer from her temp employer to move where...? My hometown, Louisville, KY! They're going to fly her out there one day this week to get a tour from the "relocation counselor" so she can see the city and look at some apartments. They'll give her moving expenses, a 401K, health benefits and several other perks as well as close to 50% in pay increase. Is she going to take the job? She doesn't know yet.  ::)

I always liked "Agony"  (both the first act and second act  version)as sung by the original cast

(you think I remember their names?  I have trouble remembering my name some mornings...)

Okay I looked 'em up

Robert Westenberg and Chuck Wagner
Well, Bob and Chuck may have been the first Princes on Broadway, but only Chuck was involved with the original original cast, at the Old Globe in San Diego.  The fellow der Brucer and I saw play Cinderella's Prince was Kenneth Marshall.  (If it had been Westenberg, I'd have insisted that der B and I wait at the stage door to say hello; he's a friend of mine from college.)

Let's everybody sing and make CDs and send them around....shall we??

Oh, let's....!!
There is absolutely no way that I would ever be that cruel to my fellow DRs.

The only living beings that will ever hear me sing are my dogs.  (Please don't report me to the ASPCA; the dogs actually seem to enjoy it!)

The new Disney "tins" are on the streets...and Amazon.com has shipped!!!

Yes, I got my notice yesterday afternoon that mine had shipped, but I'm not expecting them until Thursday.

Watched NCIS for the first and last time tonight. A serial killer due to be electrocuted in a few days decides to play cat and mouse games with his old nemesis (Mark Harmon) in a canny plot to postpone his execution.

No likeable characters (well, except for one brainy guy the rest of the cool officers loved picking on; I HATE bullies), a scenario so full of holes and contrivance that my eyes were rolling in my head before fifteen minutes had passed.

But the show has been flowering in the ratings this year, and I wondered why. THAT'S the biggest mystery involved with this show that I could fathom.

MY NAME IS EARL had some funny slaptsick and a deceitful character who kept exhorting, "Don't you judge me" that reminded me of some parents I had conferences with during my years of teaching.

I hope NBC's decision to air this opposite CSI starting in January doesn't backfire and kill it. It's a funny show with a good heart.

THE OFFICE had an episode that was amazingly schitzophrenic. Part of it was very funny and the other part made me so uncomfortable (bad reactions to a Secret Santa gift exchange at work that turned into a very sour Chinese auction) that I was squirming in my chair. And yet, the show ended on a note of good cheer and laughter.

This show walks a very thin emotional tightrope, and sometimes they fall off.

LAW & ORDER: SVU had a very convoluted case that began as simple assault at a school and evolved into somethingmuch more complicated and very, very nasty. A disturbing show this week for me.

Michael Lembeck played a former high school football player faking a spine injury on an old MURDER SHE WROTE episode. The beautiful Dack Rambo was also on that episode.

Dack Rambo--that's a name out of the past!

I refuse to watch any of the Peanuts specials since they made the move to ABC.  They chop in so many commercials that the shows are unwatchable.

Instead, I watched the first hour of OCEANS 11 on TCM and came to the realization that I never liked this movie.

Wasn't Michael Lembeck also Captain Kool of Captain Kool and the Kongs fame?
Were you up for that part too, BK?

Captain Kool and the Kongs were the Koolest. They sang at malls and stuff while introducing Saturday morning shows. I can't remember if they were a Kroft production or what, but they were in that realm of 70s weird/wrong.
