And does any DR know exactly what "Don't Bogart Me" actually means?  I'm guessing it refers to putting out a "marijuana cigarette".  Lots of references to "rolling another one" in the lyrics.

Oh...

After doing a quick scan of the rest of the 45s, it looks like a bunch of them were from a radio station, or at least a DJ.  Lots of "promotional" versions, as well as indications on how long the intros run.

Oh...

And I noticed that many of them are not labeled "Side A/B" or "Side 1/2".  How could you tell which side was supposed to be the "B Side"?

Rodzinski, is the first number in your address a two or a seven?

It's a 2.

Did anybody else watch the new show with Howie Mandel, To Deal Or Not To Deal?

Very bizarre gameshow, which seems to be on many days this week.  There are 25+ boxes (i forget how many) with amounts from 1 penny to 1 million dollars in each). You start by picking a box/suitcase.  Then you pick 6 and see which amounts you do not have in your box.

After you pick the first 6, some banker guy calls up Howie and tells him how much he will offer you for your box. If you accept the offer the game is over. If you do not deal, then you pick 5 more boxes and he makes you a new offer (depending on how much total cash you have left on the board). Then you choose 4 boxes/3..2.

It's sort of amusing since there is nothing else on.

...And now for some Frank Zappa...  On LP...  "One Size Fits All"...

Now that's eclectic!

Apparently, it's another one of those hit game shows from "across the pond" that's been adapted for North American audiences.

Ah, the wonders of Google...

From the Online Slang Dictionary:

Quote
bogart   v   1. to steal or hog. ("Don't bogart my cookies!") Origin: possibly during the 1960s as a drug reference. The band Fraternity of Man has a song called "Don't Bogart Me." Lyrics include: "Don't bogart that joint, my friend, pass it over to me." It has been theorized that the term is an allusion to Humphry Bogart, an American actor who always had a cigarette hanging from his lips. To "bogart" a joint, then, would be letting it hang from one's lips without passing it on.  Submitted by Emily Marcroft, UC Berkeley, CA, USA, 13-01-1998. Additions by Dan Day, MA, USA, 12-03-1998.

The Seeds? I don't think that is a good name for a band.

I must hear Guy Mark's singing "Loving You Just Drove me Bananas."

A Cost Plus World Market opened up here in Olympia just a few months ago!  They do have a nice selection of many different things.  My sister loves the place.  I always want to go and buy something...anything, but I don't have the funds to get everything that I want (but I do have to admit that there's not much that I actually need ;)).

Good evening!

It's freezing outside right now, but we have a fine five day forecast in store for us, so hopefully more days like today.

Put in LIFE WITH JUDY GARLAND tonight after my cleaning chore. Very enjoyable as always.

I had totally forgotten that Hugh Laurie played Vincente Minnelli. Vincente Minnelli should have been so attractive!

I only got as far as 1959 in the film, so there's a bit more to see tomorrow.

HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER had a sweet natured New Year's Eve story that I enjoyed even if I didn't think it was laugh-out-loud funny.

SOmetimes nice, pleasant, and sweet are good enough, and this episode had tremendous good will.

OUT OF PRACTICE had a New Year's Eve party scenario, too, but written by Joe Keenan, it had his celebrated mixed-up identities at its core. Funny, but this is the THIRD time these merry mix-ups have been used as the central plot of an episode for this series. Starting to seem too familiar for a show that's only halfway through its first year.

The gorgeous-to-look-at CSI: MIAMI had a reinvestigation of an old rape case that had suspects switching like fleas jumping on and off a dog.

I wouldn't rank it among the best episodes of the show I've yet seen, but it was OK, and as stated earlier, always THE high definition show to check out.

It means to not pass along the joint that you are sharing.  Proper pot smoking etiquette requires one  to take one "toke" (inhalation) and immediately pass the joint to the next person in line.  If one holds onto it for a second "toke" one will surely be chastised by one's compatriots by being told  "Hey don't bogart!"

I pass this on as information learned by attending college in the 1970's.  Of course all information I gleaned was purely word of mouth and  hearsay............ ::)
