MBarnum not only did I get a great gift via FedEx today, it was delivered by that super nice and friendly FedEx delivery guy, aka MBarnum’s brother.

I'm here...ordering books at work.  Adult non-fiction (I work at a library).  I'm just about to listen to THIS CD that we got here a few days ago:

It's called "You've Stolen My Heart:  Songs from R. D. Burman's Bollywood" by The Kronos quartet and Asha Bhosle.  Has MBarnum heard (or even heard of) this??  I liked the few clips on amazon.com that I've listened to...so far.

DR George, I have not heard of that particular CD, but I have heard of Asha Bosle...she is one of the top Bollywood singers for the last 50 years! I believe she has been dubbing the singing voices of actresses since about 1950 or so....and she is still at it!

Well, I don't have the written acceptance (they're faxing it either tonight or tomorrow) but the sellers have stated that they will sign my counter offer....so....unless they change their minds over night or the inspection shows something I'm totally unaware of....this is my new house!

Cillaliz, do you want a roommate! Oh, my golly that house is SO beautiful! I am very, very green with envy!

DR Cillaliz - your house is bee-you-ti-ful!  When can we have an HHW housewarming?

Assuming all goes as planned I will take possesion Feb 1 and will take my time painting and doing misc stuff to get it the way I want it before moving in. Then, of course, I'll clean and get this house in shape to sell.  I'm really looking forward to it...

I have always said the next house will be done in that order.  So far it hasn't happened.

Good vibes to Jason’s HHW angel.

Jennifer your medical system is so different than here.  We would have a regular pediatrician for the baby.  Thank goodness you were feeling better and able to care for your sister and your niece.

I thought I said this, but I probably wrote it in a confusing way.

The baby has a pediatrician. I would imagine most babies have one.  But when my sis called, it turns out the doc was on vacation that week.  And she works alone (has an office in her house).  So that is why we needed backup.

Wow - it's a CASTLE!!!  Love the style....the turret and the chimney are wonderful.  A great decision, DR CILLALIZ!!!

But you must NAME it right away.

A remember do not take an old broom into your new house!  Buy a new broom and a box of salt!!

Any suggestions for a name???

One fun thing I'm already talking to Paul about is  painting the inside of the turret to look like the white brick of fairy tales and in an inconspicuos place to have Rapunzel with her golden hair hanging down! It's the entry way. I'd love to have Rapunzel be something that you only see if you are paying attention or happen to glance in the right spot.

Can you take an old broom to the garage?

Would you bring your Bollywood movies?  ;)

I am very excited. I wasn't seriously looking for a house until I saw this, it's really my dream house and I just had to have it.  Thank you all for the vibes and the good wishes.

One would think so, but he always seems to be painting somewhere else! I'm still waiting for a Christmas present he's painting for me....Christmas 2003, that is. But you've got to love him, he's so....Paul

or maybe Rapunzel can just let him climb her hair, but if she's looking for something more, I'm afraid she won't get that from Paul

Bryan has gifts that may never be wrapped and I have not packed.  I will have to get up very early tomorrow to be ready to leave before the workmen arrive, and before the house sitters arrive to watch the workmen.

Have a Merry Christmas, a Happy Chanukah and a great weekend.

Jane - I haven't wrapped one present yet, still have some little gift shopping to do, and must get up early tomorrow to go Krogering for the holiday weekend.

Have a nice visit with Bryan - say HI to my hometown (well, my birthtown, actually) for me!

nd then there was a table full of "naked" gingerbread men with cups of frosting, red hots, colored sugars, etc.  -And I actually ended up eating one of the them...  Well, two of them.   -Hey, I worked out this morning!

DR Jose - this is very similar to our tradition of having "naked" shortbread cut-outs ready for holiday company to frost and decorate.  I baked the cookies tonight - who wants to come over to decorate tomorrow?

And speaking of holidays, since Christmas falls on Sunday, is Monday going to be a legal holiday for federal workers (i.e. the Post Office)? Will there be mail delivery on Monday?

I'm guessing no.

There will be delivery on Christmas Eve Saturday and on Monday.

Any suggestions for a name???

I would not suggest Mandalay.

Congrats on the house, DR Cillaliz.  It reminds me of stately Wayne Manor.

Wayne Manor is interesting!

No don't take the broom at all...even to the garage.

And of course MY suggestion for the name of the house is:

Dragonwyck!

Good vibes to Jason’s HHW angel.

Matt H the banks are closed on Monday.

Cillaliz, Good vibes you will soon be living in your beautiful new home with a turret.

Thank you for the info, DR Jane. I suspected as much, and I think this confirms my suspicions about postal deliveries, etc.

Great house, DR Cillaliz!!!

And I hope once you take possession and get started with decorating, we'll see some inside pictures, too.

Terrific, and I'm so happy for you!

We got a late start on the George C. Scott CHRISTMAS CAROL after dinner and present exchange, so that's why I'm so late coming on-line.

I've never seen this entire thing. Loved Roger Rees in this (he played Fred), and Edward Woodward was a good Ghost of Christmas Present.

But I always miss the music of SCROOGE even when the movies are as well done as this one was.
