I'm up, I'm up, but may go back to sleep.  It is pouring rain here, and the winds are gusting, oh, yes, the winds are gusting.

I am going to start to work on a new teleplay for next Christmas, entitled The Christmas Brassier.  It's the story of a man whose dislike of the Christmas holiday stems from the year he was traumatized by seeing his mother dancing for Santa while wearing a red sequinned bra with white fur trim.  The man meets and falls in love with a Victoria Secrets model (who either has a long held secret or carries a heavy burden--I haven't decided yet),  with whom he rediscovers the true meaning of Christmas and novelty lingerie.  This may not be Hallmark Hall of Fame type of programming, so I'm thinking maybe taking this one to either HBO or Cinemax.

What's up with the weather?  Seems like it's raining and storming everywhere there are HHW'ers.  Woke up to brilliant sunshine, but the gray skies are rolling in here, too.  Heavy showers and winds are expected all day and into tomorrow.  Good day to just lay on the sofa and watch a movie or two.

Once I get back from Circuit City, that is.  Grrrrrrr...

Dan - Sounds good.  Why not call it THE SECRET OF SANTA'S VICTORIA?  :)

Monday greetings!  Yikes, bk, it sure is raining out there, which we can see on the HGTV commercial-free broadcast of the Tournament of Roses Parade.

DH Richard and I are the meat in the "generation sandwich" today.  He and I are going soon to transport his mother from the hospital to the health-care center at her retirement community.  Her doctors are pleased with her recovery, but agree that she is not ready to go back to her independent living apartment right away.

After we get her settled, we'll load up the car and take DS Rob back to the University of Cincinnati for the second quarter of his sophomore year.  During this term, he will make arrangements for his first co-op experience which will take place in the spring and summer quarters.  He's looking at a government contractor in Oak Ridge, Tennessee.

DR Jane - I was sorry to read this morning about the loss of your cousin.  Sympathies to your family.

This is akin to last year's major rainfall.

Two weeks from this very moment, DH Richard and I will be on our way to NYC for our 25th anniversary vacation!  Dinner at Barrymore's that evening, anyone?

Speaking of Barrymore's, is Sam's right next door closing, too?

It had rained this morning but stopped for awhile. Now, it's raining again, and pretty heavily, too.  :(

Ginny - I may have missed it.  Did you end up getting tickets for the Barbara Cook concert at the Met?

Good Morning!  Good Afternoon!

Well... Since I just got out of bed about half and hour ago... And as DR Dan (the Man) mentioned, it is raining here (too)... I'm staying put in Fairfax today.  Richmond shall have to wait until next "weekend".

-And as it turns out, a couple of friends from Richmond are coming up today for some shopping (IKEA), so I might be getting together with them later.

And now that I've had my oatmeal and blueberries with a dash of cinnamon... and a pat of butter... :)

As for the Topic of the Day...

Restaurants: Becco, Pietrasanta - Basically anything on their menus.  I'm partial to the gnocchi at Pietrasanta, and the Osso Bucco at Becco.

Chain restaurant-wise, I do like The Olive Garden and Macaroni Grill.  Strangely enough, in all my travels, I have yet to give Carraba's or Buca di Beppo a try.   -Do I sense another New Year's Resolution forming?

Add House of Pies to one of the few BK haunts I've visited in these rainy days in LA.  The Chocolate Banana creme pie is fabulous!!

BK - I didn't arrange a west coast get together because I'm traveling with 3 others who don't post here on HHW, one of which has probably never even heard of the esteemed bk.  Anyhow, perhaps next time.  I do like this area and re-location has always been a thought!

Macaroni Grill! Thanks DR Jose, that is the name of the restaurant we ate at yesterday. I couldn't remember the name! It was very, very good!

Still pouring and gusting here.

I did get back in bed about nine, and there I stayed until ten-twenty.  Frankly, I could just curl up there and stay all day, but I shan't.

Bruce, just trash the leftover fudge so you can begin eating healthy foods.  I don’t mind. ;D

I thought Matt was at the Farmer’s Market Du-Par’s.

The Emy connection is great. :D

Trash the fudge?  Fudge isn't healthy?  There's only two pieces left - maybe I'll bring them to rehearsal and give others a treat.
