Good morning, all!  Thanks for the good wishes.

I loved SOUVENIR; both Donald Corren and Judy were quite wonderful, and I found the play to be very funny and, ultimately, quiye moving.  I'm sorry it's closing.   Kritzerland should record it.

Especially for Judy Kaye's beautiful and moving rendition of Ava Maria at the end of the play.

Was it Gunold's or Shubert's version?

Tomorrow's preview is paid - half price, but paid, but most of the audience are paying half price of half price through one of those papering services, and there are freebies as well.

The obvious solution to the video is something in front of the projector lens, but unfortunately, the projector is hanging from a pipe in the middle of our set.

I'd need to know more about what Shayne is talking about re black leader.  Not sure what that all means.  If it means you put some black at the end of clip one, let's say, then pause before the next clip, well, that doesn't work because the projector says "pause".

Dimming I don't know about - we're hoping the projector guy can figure it all out - he installs this stuff for a living and does it for huge stars and he must know all the ins and outs.  He's also incredibly busy and he's doing all this as a favor, but we'll see what happens today.

DR JOSE - your post the other day made me start thinking.

This morning I got out my "skinny" jeans....and I am wearing them now!

BK, maybe I'm not understanding the technical thing but why not just have an actual functioning television set on stage into which the cued-up video is put?  I saw the reading of the play.  They are putting a video into a TV set, why not just do that?  I don't understand the need for a projector at all. (Have duplicates of the video in case anything goes wrong)

DR LAURA'S suggestion of hitting the "b" key on the computer, or even the Escape key...may do something!

I'll try to explain a little better.

You said that you have the video portions divided into chapter stops

So what you should do is add additional chapters stop in between each of the chapters that contain video.

These new chapter stops will have black footage. So the image projected will be just black footage. Now this black footage should be an extended length (More than you actually need  between each video projection on the screen.)

When it is time for the next video image to appear, the tech punches the next chapter button and then video plays.

Then the chapters will be black footage and the process will continue and the projector is turned off after the last video projection.

Thanks, DR FJL. It should be a good lunch regardless of what transpires, and I'm sure the fellow (Don is his name) is a nice guy. My friend Jeff only knows nice guys.

I think I will just lounge about the house today in my Kurta and watch movies...gosh knows I have a lot of movies to watch!

Although I think a nap might be in order. I got up way too early this morning.

As far as the projector business, I'm sure it all depends on the projector, but its set-up menu might allow for screen alerts (like "pause" or "play") to be turned off. I've seen projectors that do that.

And it's a beautiful day out, too. I'm wearing a t-shirt and sweater. No need even for a jacket. Very lucky that the weather is cooperating.

I've seen even Broadway shows in early previews where the director got up before the show and explained that it was an early preview, it's part of the process of finding the show, and there just might be a need to stop at times.

At one show I was at, they offered that if anyone has a problem with that in principle, they could go to the box office and exchange their ticket for a later performance, and that set a nice light tone, and maybe two people took them up on that offer.

MattH -Isn't that what Madeline Kahn's character in BLAZING SADDLES said about Cleavon Little's character the next morning -  "What a nice guy!" or something like that.   :)

Probably, but I haven't seen it in so long, I couldn't swear to it!

Well, I'm off on my adventure. A report later in the day, I'm sure.

Sunday greetings!  I have the house to myself today, as DH Richard is in Cincinnati for church, a veterans' meeting, and shape-note singing.  My agenda is to take down Christmas decorations, making my way to the family room by 4:30pm EST so I can watch the Cincinnati Bengals' play-off game while working.

DR elmore - feel better!

My cousin Brad is going to audition for a production of GUYS & DOLLS next month, so he asked for a copy of the BC CD - I am giving him the 1992 OBC.  I also found my video of the "Making of G&D" - the PBS special about the recording.

Oh my they certainly had their drama there, did they not?

It's because we have to have a large image.  The only other option was a plasma screen, and that wasn't an option.  Much of this has to do with the theater space, and the projector (image projected on a wall (many home theater folks do this) seemed to be the easiest way to go.  Again, we're hoping somehow that the guy who gave it to us will be able to figure out the fix - if not, I'd say we're in deep doo doo.

Slow day for me here.  Just spoke to my brother, who's sitting around like a lox, doing nothing.  Meanwhile, our parents in Florida have two parties to go to today, and have more energy today than either me or my brother.
