Back from our second opening night, and I'm happy to report it was the show I wanted it to be for an audience of VERY appreciative folks.  More in the notes.

I got flowers from someone named Michael, so I'm presuming they were from our very own Mr. Michael Shayne.  Thanks!

Shelley Winters...

I still remember when she was on "Inside the Actor's Studio" - back when they had actual actors on there - and she "performed" a bit of Shakespeare.  It was so incredibly moving and real.  And everyone in the auditorium seemed to be amazed too.  -She was demonstrating how Shakespeare's "language" can be "our language" too.  She succeeded in her demonstration.

...And "A Place In the Sun".

DR MBarnum - Glad to know that you found some bargains at Old Navy too!  I wasn't originally planning on heading back there today between shows, but since I had to head out in that direction anyway...  I'm glad I did... 2 t-shirts, 2 sweatshirts, 1 polo shirt, 1 fleece pullover, 1 pair of gloves and 1 knit cap... All for just under $25.00!

*And as for trying things on before buying them... I think I picked up that very common sense tip from watching "What Not To Wear", and it's some of the best advice I've ever gotten in regards to my wardrobe.  Not only does it end up saving you some money in a lot of cases, but it also saves you from having a "fashion emergency" day.

...And I have to say I'm very excited about heading back up to NYC on Monday!  I'm all a-twitter!

:)

*Now I just have to decide if I'm going to head up tomorrow/Sunday night after the show, or just wait until Monday morning.  Right now, I'm leaning towards tomorrow/Sunday night... But I'll see how I feel in the morning.

So... Any pre-Barrymore's plans?  I have no real plans for Monday except for possibly stopping the auditions for A Chorus Line... But that's just to say Hi to some folks.  Other than that, I have a free day...  I'll call you... You'll call me...

Alas, there was a little dip in the energy during tonight's show due to the Redskins' loss... Ah, well...  *Of course, our closing night happens to be Superbowl Sunday, so...

However, Brad Oscar hosted a watching party at his apartment between shows, and they had TONS of food leftover... And they brought all that food back to the green room... The empanadas were particularly good.

It's been a long day today, and tomorrow will be another long day - which will most likely include a drive up to NYC after the evening show. -I should get in around 2:00AM.  So...

Goodnight.

I enjoy WILD IN THE STREETS, but I can't say I particularly remember Shelley Winters in that.

Still flying high after that game, Rodzinski!  Nice to FINALLY see the Seahawks win a freakin' playoff game, seeing as how I didn't really care the last time... when I was only 5 years old.  Definately pulling for the Colts up until they face the Hawks in the Super Bowl!

Yeah, a rematch would be fun. Very scared about the Steelers though. Just one of those teams we've had a hard time with over the years.

DG Ann and I shall celebrate the Seahawks win (and, more accurately, the 3-day weekend) by heading off on a day-trip tomorrow to Astoria, Oregon, perhaps to Portland later in the evening.  Just for the sake of getting out of town for a little while.

Astoria is also a  neighborhood in Queens. You two should head there sometime, so we can have an HHW gathering. Of course it would be quite a journey by car.
