Form 1139 is the corporate tax application for a quickie refund, so post #1139 is a milestone for anyone whose gotten a quickie that they'd like refunded.

I'm with you on that DR Jason.. The Genetic pool international breeding programme is terrific,  Given my thoughts on animals in captivity (especially birds!), Melbourne's Zoo is wonderful (I love the Butterfly house) and my recent visit to Brisbane's "Seaworld" to frolic with Dolphins was an amazing experience. Many of the sea creatures have been rescued from nets etc and the aquarium is amazing in it's size and diversity of creatures - starfish and molluscs to great sharks.  Most interesting creature of the deep was the Dugong.

Truly sad DR FJL. Is it true that "Sleeping partners are in a risky position"? One of the few Accounting jokes I remember.  My accounting classes were a credit to me of course. I used to amuse my students with balancing acts.

Who needs baths?  That's what a heavy-handed spraying of Axe Body Deoderant is for. (Or a great deal of sloshing of Jean Nate for the ladies.)

The other thing I say about zoos is, in order to get some people interested enough to want to save animals, they need to see up close the wonderful things that need saving and protection.

In other words, it is because I went to zoos as a kid, that I learned to love animals and care about animals that I never even knew existed. I could have read about them in books or seen them in movies, but seeing them up close really makes it more personal, in a way that I believe is ultimately beneficial (provided the zoos are well-maintained).

Don't know "Blah Blah Blah" but I know "Da Da Da" by German group, Trio.

It was from the early 80s but had new life a couple years back when VW used it in one of their commercials.

I'd personally prefer for animals not to be in captivity, as would most people, I think. After visiting the Bronx Zoo, however (which is run by the Wildlife Conservation Society - an international program to help re-populate endangered species around the world), I've learned a lot about animal population and the dangers that they face in their natural environments. Until humans start realizing that we're the reason these amazing creatures are dying out, I guess the best that some of us can do is keep them in a safe environment where we can help them repopulate, learn more about them and let people, both young and old, see these incredible animals and develop an appreciation for them. Education and experience are the best tools that conservationists have to stop the destruction of habitat and slaughter of animals for their hides and fur. I don't think anyone can fully appreciate what it would mean to have a world without tigers unless you've been fortunate enough to see one for yourself. Zoos are certainly entertaining, but they're slyly educational, as well.

"Da Da Da" was a hit here too - about the same vintage as "De Do Do Do, De Da Da Da".

We need to zip those lyrics .

 i agree.

We went on the "backstage" tpour at Sea World several years ago and were quite impressed to see what they are doing to help sea animals that were injured in the wild, taking care of them until they are healed and then relesing them in the wild

Sea World was drastically redone several years and if you haven't been ther in the past 10 years or so yo should see it again.  The pools have been redone to make them much larger and to allow the animals to move away form the crowds and be secluded if they so desire.  They have also been landscaped to give a more natural appearance .

Much different than the little round pools they used to have

I think Carrot Stick Girl got a decent deal in terms of a little cushion of money and she keeps saying that it was perfect timing, so I guess she's got something else on the horizon. I dunno. There's actually a lot of stuff going on right now at the office, but I can't really divulge anything else. :-\

If ever I would leave you,... it wouldn't be in Springtime......

Well I hope you are secure

I'm pretty certain I am. The other changes that are happening are going on in middle and upper management. They had to let one of us go (Carrot Stick Girl) in order to make space for someone else to move down to her spot while someone else is hired in to take over a management position. Confusing? Contrived? You betcha! We had a staff meeting this morning about it. Never has there been a more uncomfortable meeting since I've been here...

DR Elmoore2003, you told me there were bathouses all over New York...there should be no problem getting clean while the water is turned off.

They were all closed after your last visit to Manhattan!
