I saw The Missing this evening, Dear Readers.  The errant and truant Dear Reader Jason suggested that this film has been made before, and several other Dear Readers concurred.  I have no doubt that this film, indeed, has been made before, but, truth be told, I never saw it.  Therefore, I must say that I rather enjoyed this motion picture.  Cate Blanchette and Tommie Lee Jones are quite good, and the movie's narrative and pace kept me engrossed over the course of the entire film.  I thought Ron Howard and the writers did an excellent job of balancing the personal story between the two leads with the adventure/rescue element of the movie.

Matt, that does make a lot of sense.  I do remember watching both of them when they were on TV.  I have a CD of a stage musical version with Eddie Korbich and Walter Charles that I love very much.

When the dust settled on the presidential election, Comedy Central (I think) had a sitcom called "That's My Bush!" starring Timothy Bottoms.  HE was absolutely a dead ringer for GWB.  Tongue-in-cheeck of course, but it was an uncanny impersonation.  He also played GWB in a serious made for TV movie called "DC 9/11: Time of Crisis."

I would have thought if the ceiling were to be busted then the confetti and balloons would have already fallen! But then we are upside down here so that may not happen in Washington.

Just finished viewing and came back and hold your hats and hallelujah, looks like we made it - oh, a Barry Manilow reference.

Welcome back TCB - boots and all. I was going to call you a clever donkey but you would no doubt take that as a compliment when I really meant SA. Ann's recital went as expected but I think it is for her to post her feelings about it.

I'm pleased to say that my recital went better than I'd expected.  Not a very big crowd, but an appreciative one.  And I got it recorded on CD, so that's good.  I can sleep well tonight...

Forgot that bit about the autographs TCB. We should make even more on ebay with those. Now will there be cast recordings of those other Washingon events "Oliver" and "A Christmas Carol"? There be a market for a set of autographed Cds.

I'm pretty sure it has to do with that hole in the ozone layer, TCB.

That hole probably has an effect on the space-time continuum and any time Tommy gets too far ahead of himself, he gets jerked back a day and has to start catching up.

DR Ann - Could you post your recital program?  -Forgive me if you had done this already.  I used to do a lot of accompanying, especially for vocalists.  I especially love the French repertoire - Faure, Chausson, Duparc, Ravel, Debussy, etc...
