I'm sitting here waiting for my ride to pick me up for lunch, too. Should be here momentarily.

Jake was dying. His wife sat at the bedside.

He looked up and said weakly: "I have something I must confess."

"There's no need to, " his wife replied.

"No," he insisted, "I want to die in peace.
I slept with your sister, your best friend, her best friend, and your mother!"

"I know," she replied, "now just rest and let the poison work."

As for the Topic of the Day...

We were a drive-in family growing up, or we went to the movies on the Army base (Ft. Myer).

You've always been a curb service kinda kid! :-*

Thanks for the phone calls over the weekend.  Break your dialing finger?

I'm up, I'm up.  Jrand, I went to that link, found you could subscribe monthly (6.98) and signed up, only to find they don't carry any Los Angeles newspapers.  They carry a Valley newspaper, but it's a little shocking they don't have any major LA paper.  I'm trying to cancel the subscription now.

So sorry, MR BK....I was certain they had the LA TIMES at least.  Sorry.....you'll probably be stuck with the 6.98 for a month.....

GRRRRRRRRR.....so much for MY research!

DR MATTH thanks for the Blyth info....as the movie went on, I was certain it was Ann singing for herself.

I watched DADDY LONG LEGS too...since it was being discussed.  I only have the p/s video, but it's a fun movie.  And once they get past the awful beginning of the routine, I like Slew Foot....

BK, did you pick up the DVD for ATRAGON? I almost bought it this weekend but then changed my mind. It is one Toho sci-fi that I never saw as a kid so I don't know if it is any fun or not. Netflix doesn't have it, alas, otherwise I would just get it through them.

Rodzinski, re: the tv episodes masquerading as movies on that DARK CRIMES DVd set...you are right..but I must say that the Studio One episode that I watched was certainly enjoyable...an old kinescope of a live performance.

SPACE AMOEBA (AKA YOG, MONSTER FROM SPACE) is soon to be released as well.

I enjoyed DOGORA. It makes me very happy to have these movies subtitled.

Atragon.....saw this on TV - so I can't remember much about it.  Isn't it some kind of robot or something like that?  Not to confused with a space amoeba.

LOL....DRVIXMOM....

I am here. I spent some of the morning before beginning work doing an e-file of my federal taxes. I began using one site but they are less than user friendly in my humble opinion and I would recommend that any DR stay away from TaxEngine.com. I ended up using CitizenTax.com and filed my Federal taxes for free. I am now awaiting confirmation that the filing was accepted and then begins the two to three week wait for my refund. None of the sites offer free State filing so I will mail my NY state taxes in today. It will take longer but the curmudgeon in me refuses to pay money to e-file a simple tax return. I don't have complicated taxes and if they want people to file electronically they should make it easier, not more difficult. It's not even the price, the sites that do e-file for states charge generally around $7.95. It's the principle of the thing....

I totally agree.  I mailed in my income tax return because, up until this year, I was able to do TeleFile, but they have now discontinued it.  It was totally free and very, very, very (that's three verys) easy.  AND I got my refund in about 10 days!  How cool was that??  This year, I got mine back in a little over three weeks, but the filing was free...except for the 39¢ stamp. ;)

We LOVE Big Eden and highly recommend it to anyone who hasn't seen it yet.

I love both "Big Eden" and "Latter Days."  "Latter Days," however, is the one movie from Netflix that I lost! ::) No, really!  I misplaced it last year and have no idea where it is, so I just paid for it.  If I do find it (and I intend to), I own it free and clear...but I just haven't found it, yet.

ATRAGON is a giant drilling underwater ship that travels to the land of Mu.

There is a big snake monster called Manda, and some gals with colorful hair.

Atragon (pronounced 8-track-gon) is a mixture of a dragon and an 8-track tape player.

I spent three hours uploading photos to PhotoBucket last night. I blame Jose. He suggested I use their site.

If you'd like to peruse any of my pictures, please visit http://photobucket.com/albums/f49/BroadwayBratt/. You'll find random pics of New York, my many visits to the Zoo and my trip to Washington DC.

Enjoy!

I also used Tele-File. I was disappointed when I received the card this year telling me that due to decreased use of the program it was being discontinued. It was simple and quick and I never had a problem. Oh, well, if my federal Adjusted Gross Income stays below a certain level I can e-file for free for the next few years anyway. I don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing, keeping my income below a certain level  ;)

Thanks, DRJASON...I love photobucket!  I use it for all of our Putnam County Playhouse photos!

Yes, DRRODZINSKI, my 8-track is gone as well.

Oh, my, Cinema Treasures is a wonderful site. I got to see some pictures of old Minneapolis and Saint Paul theatres that were not around by the time I went to movies regularly. I couldn't have seen them in real life but I did get to see some great pictures.
