DR DakotaCelt - Is the Chester Fritz that auditorium with all the pics of the artists who have played there in the lobby?  If I'm remembering correctly, it's quite an impressive display - and theatre.

-Although, I do remember that our dressing rooms were some of the classrooms in the building...  I think.

???

You are correct in your description. They are pictures of different performers and theater companies that have visited. I am sure your show poster is now on the wall also.. :)

THey building also has some rehearsal rooms and sound rooms.

Thanks for the confirmation... Oh, and I do remember ordering a copy of the photo they took of our entire cast and crew... Hmm... I really wonder where that is now.

A few years back, the Guthrie and Ordway did a joint project of taking a company of Midsummers Nights Dream on tour through the Plains. It was part of a grant they got through JFK theatre in DC to take the Arts to the rural areas.

That was the first time I had seen a professional prodcution of Shakespeare and it was incredible.

Okay, I'm tired. <yawn> I'm going to bed.  In the morning, I'm meeting a co-worker at work and we're going to Costco (it's only a couple of miles from where I work) and I need to get up early...well, earlier than I ever get up on a Sunday...and I must compose myself...so composed for a Sunday. ;) (sort of Sondheim references)

Not completely sure what Costco is?? WE do not have them up here....

Good morning, all!  I had a marathon day yesterday with Season 1 of SLINGS AND ARROW, which the Sundance Channel showed back to back yesterday.  Tonight, the second series begins.  It's quite wonderful, and I wonder how much of the backstage intrigue at the Shakespeare Festival is based on the Ontario Festival.  The cast is excellent and the writing very good.

I have a movie with goddaughter Charlotte today, depending on whether or not her dance class is cancelled.  She wanted THE PINK PANTHER, which I nixed, so we'll most likely see DATE MOVIE and hopefully laugh.   I'll also give her her belated birthday gift tonight.

I'll be heading out shortly to the recording office; when I return, I have a few forms to fill out for a meeting tomorrow at 2:00.  Then, back to the Men's Chorus charts.

Whew!  Caught up at last.

Read all about MR BK's nearly flat tire - DR RLP's new toy - DR RODZINSKI's anniversary and trip to LI - saw tulips and daisies - read about DR CILLALIZ's new kitchen AND her brief flirtation with a handsome actor - whew!!!

DR CILLA LIZ - if they have one in your area - the Tuesday Morning Stores have great bargains on home furnishing accessories and sometimes have beautiful area rugs at great prices!

The best things are the non-advertised clearance items!

I am off to work.

Have fun visiting with DR CP today, MR BK - I am sure he will enjoy the play.

Good morning!

Gorgeously sunny day here, but that sun isn't translating into warm temperatures. We'll be lucky to get to 40 today. Brrrrr!!!!

A good day to get laundry done and other inside chores. But it's pretty to look outside the window and see that azure sky.

Well here I am with almost nothing to say. Which mean I have something to say which is about nothing.

Actually I am surprised that I have time to write something even though it is about nothing. But since I am writing about something I might as well just say that I have been busy busy busy.

I have been going to work early and staying late and that makes me tired by the end of the day.
My mother has been visiting and see is still recuperating from her knew operations and the installation of her pacemaker.
I have join tostmasters international and my concert series has started for the season. Weekends have been occupied with the Renessaince Festival and catching up on films Walk the Line and Brokeback Mountain (which I was not crazy about). Been working on a play and what other little time I have is me time

So I guess I did have something to say

Looking forward to THE MIRROR CRACK'D FROM SIDE TO SIDE on DVD today. Then, I think I might put in Barbara Cook on the Bell Telephone Hour. Was talking with a friend about it yesterday, and decided that time is ripe to watch it. (I got it for Christmas, and I can't believe it's taken me this long to watch it.)

Last night's French Onion Soup...well, I was a bit disappointed.  The mix of chicken and beef broth was OK, but the sweet onions instead of the yellows...believe it or don't, the sweets didn't caramelize properly.  I think they had too much water in them.

I've still got red and white onions to try, as other variants.

Good call.

Thank you!  I'm sure DATE MOVIE will be offensive, gross, and totally dumb.  We'll probably laugh ourselves silly, but I won't spend the film telling Charlotte what a genius Peter Sellers was.

Poor Steve Martin!  I loved ROXANE and PARENTHOOD.  Now he's doing things like PP, CHEAPER BY THE DOZEN  1&2, which bear as much relation to the Galbraith family books as I do!  What's run off with his taste?  Is it time for a new agent?

Good Afternoon!

And speaking of "Date Movie"...

While walking around Times Square Wednesday afternoon, I noticed a crowd had gather on the sidewalk outside the Marriott Marquis.  Turns out it was a promo for "Date Movie" - they were giving free chair massages.  There was even a bit of a "bait and switch" involved.  They had some very pretty and nubile young women in "Date Movie" t-shirt handing out flyers, but the actual massages were being given by women from a Chinese massage parlor.

;)

-Oh, and they were also giving out small boxes of Kleenex - like the ons featured in the movie's ads...  "Everyone wantsa happy ending."
