When I got home, I rewatched CSI" last season finale, the tension-filled Quentin Tarantino-written and directed episode featuring George Eads buried alive. Still found his performance amazing and undoubtedly the best work of his career. When I think William Shatner won the Emmy for dramatic supporting actor and George wasn't even nominated for this tour de force performance, well, I just shake my head in disgust.

Then, I put in BAMBI II. The producers really tried to match the oil painting look of the original film's artwork, and I found it a sweet, simple little story with one very lovely tune "There Is Life" which opens the show.

It has a great DTS soundtrack option, and it sounds wonderful. I believe I read Disney released this as a theatrical film in Europe, so it has a richer look to it than a lot of their made-for-video animation.

And I'll be watching DVDs on into this evening as well. IN JUSTICE is preempted for AMERICA'S FUNNIEST HOME VIDEOS, and I suspect MONK is a rerun (though I'm not sure about that). So, I may move on to some more Fox noir films.

Yes, DR Ron, Irina Slutskya still maintains that she was cheated out of the gold at Salt Lake City, but anyone watching her performance could see how sloppy and desperate a program it was. Like last night, she made numerous changes during the program (always downgrading planned, harder elements) and ended up with some very sloppy jumps and landings. Sarah Hughes landed TWO triple-triple combinations superbly in 2002 in addition to have outstanding spins and lovely choreography.

None of the ladies landed even one triple-triple last night.

I don't know maybe it's different in/for the US, but I like seeing the medals distributed by country. Canada never has a chance to get the most, so everyone is just very excited when any athlete wins a medal.

Counts are fine, in and of themselves. A lot of times, it's the changing numbers that tell us more of our countrymen have done well.

But far too often, the count is used in terms of "Russia leads", "U.S. slips to second", "U.S. might be on top after tomorrow"...and always with displays of medal counts...no comment about the athletes....just country vs. country.

Watching my MODESTY BLAISE dvd = purchased for $3 on EBAY. I like the film, but Vitti's performance is just not there for me. I realize she is acting in a language foreign to her, and it looks like a lot of her dialog was looped....but still....not crazy about the music either.

I skipped out of work early and went to the home show. I signed up for every drawing there. I tend to win drawings, so I'm anxious to see if I win this time. I did get some good ideas and cards of people who can do some work I want to do on the house in the future. It was a good time

Back from a good and productive rehearsal - we'll definitely get through the weekend shows just fine. The structure is very strong, the show is focused, and it's really about something now. Linda's opening number is what she always does - The Best Is Yet To Come - I reblocked it and had them put a better ending on it.

I agree with you Ron, about the media. The other night, Bob Costas (who I usually admire) had the nerve to criticize the U.S. Olympic team, in particular the Men's Ski Team, for not living up to the hype that they generated prior to the games. That they generated? Give me a break. It is the networks and the print journalists who scout out all possible Olympic athlethes, to see which ones they can promote, or sell, to the American public.

I am not disappointed with the athletes showing in these games. On the contrary, I am extremely proud of each and everyone one of them for their talent, their hard work, and their dedication to their individual sports.
