Glad you weren't affected by the cyclone, DR Tomovoz. When I logged onto AOL tonight, it said "Killer Cyclone Hits Australia," and naturally I thought first of your well being. Thanks for the report.

Whoop that trick, my bad.  Steve and Eydie were singing "dinging from dawn 'til night" rather than "singing from dawn 'til night."   Much better!  :)

I remember the ovation on the Carson show, and everyone shouting "One more hallelujah!"  Seriously.

"Dinging" is the last line!

DR Rodzinski - with all the upsets in the NCAA tournament, you've gotta be loving it.  I love cheering for the underdogs, so this is an unbelieveable season. Glad I didn't bet any money!

Well... today... they'd might be shouting "encore" for the Pimp song, SO......?

"We" were naïve in those times, you know!
The melody is catchy and it wants to be a song of PEACE!

Since the NCAA tournament ran over into 60 MINUTES' timeslot, COLD CASE was almost an hour late getting started, so instead of letting that spill into my other programming, I simply put in a DVD and got about 2/3 of the way through it.

MAKING LOVE, whcih I had only recently found out was available in a widescreen enhanced DVD from Fox, doesn't look super sharp, but it's fine. It's still among the only gay themed films released by a major studio (and one of the few which has a happy ending), and for that, I will always take up for it despite less than realistic dialog.

At 9, I switched over to THE SOPRANOS. Interesting second episode, and one that will undoubtedly be a serious contender for Edie Falco to submit for Emmy consideration.

James Gandolfini gets to experiment with a different accent, too, in this one.

CROSSING JORDAN had a less than satisfying episode with two fairly mundane mysteries. Nice to see Bill Mumy as a guest star.

One thing that has really bugged me about the show was the writers breaking up the promising relationship Jordan had begun forming with the Australian newspaperman by bringing Woody back into her life. The journalist left, Jordan and Woody had one episode where they decide they're better as friends right now, and now they have paired Woody off with the new regular on the show (a police psychologist) and Jordan is left high and dry. Irritating to say the least, especially since she and the news guy made a GREAT couple.

Francois -  Don't get me wrong, teh music to the "hallelujah" song is very catchy and the song has a lovely sentiment, and I absolutely loved the lyric in Hebrew.  But good intentions and sentiments weren't enough to make me like the English version, which you so kindly just reprinted, and which Steve and Eydie were hawking incessantly as if their career depended on it (which it probably didn't).

Oops, sorry!

I made a mistake!
Mireille Mathieu NEVER sang the Eurovision song (Well, she might have in her bathroom!)
It's Rika Zaraï who did, which makes sense for us French!

But you may all have corrected that yourselves, I'm sure! LOL!

Anyway, enough of that song already, right!

I had just mentioned the title to create a silly pun! That's all!

I should have ... refrained  from mentioning  the refrain! My, bad!

(Had to correct my lousy English!! :-\

Or something with "refrain" in it.

Just for completeness, though, becuase I am adter all compulsive, here is the Hebrew lyric, so that member of the HHHW (the Hebrew-spaeking HHW) can sing along:  :)

MBarnum, it seems in reading the LORD OF THE RINGS Playbill, that a member of the company named Vincent Tong was in the movie BOLLYWOOD HOLLYWOOD.   And one of the composers of the stage LOTR is A.R. Rahman, who wrote the score for BOMBAY DREAMS.  Some more Bollywood-stage musical connections.

I have to concede:

THE LYRICS ARE MUCH BETTER..... for someone who can get them!! :D

Errr.... I have the German lyrics handy if someone's interested! ;D

I guess you mean Breton!

Dahling..... see, I too can "say" "dahling" too, I hardly master French... so....

I think Steve and Eydie can sing Breton... Not sure but, you never know, with those two!! :D ;D

Trivia.. Dylan offered the song to the Everly Brothers who said they did not understand it.  They recorded it some thirty years later.  Why do I bother remembering such things?

'Cause it's fun!!!

The one benefit of all this "Hallelujah" back-and-forth is that I let DR Tomovoz' reference way above to A.K.'s go by without any Jewish jokes about Alta Kackers, or Joe Cocker, or Betty Crocker for that matter.
