Hello, all! I've come back under a new name as there was a problem accessing the site with my old moniker. I'd like to visit on occasion, as I've missed being part of the discussion. And I've certainly missed my HHW friends, although I've kept in touch with many of you. Sometimes when I'm sitting at my desk, struggling over a phrase, it's nice to know that some very nice folks are just a keystroke away. Mine is a very lonely profession. Cue the violins.
Okay - here's what I'd like to request:  Please no parades, balloons, chocolate cakes (unless sent directly to my house!), etc.. Let's just act like I haven't been gone for two years or however long it's been and pick up from where we left off... Although I'm not going to post as frequently as I used to. It's just nice to be able to do so when the spirit moves me. Hallelujah! Hope everyone's fine and dandy. Weirdly enough, considering that in ye olden days I posted a LOT, I can't quite remember how everything works. I'm sure it will come back. Like posting a bicycle, or something of that sort.
Maria, by the way, is my middle name. It's not an homage to West Side Story.
Now let's see if I recall how to post..

The DVD player has been replaced and all is well.  We tested all the DVDs (each video sequence - there are three), then we ran the final video DVD several times, and it's all working perfectly.

I second what Maria said - Please, no balloons, parades, welcome-wagons - just proceed with business as usual.  Thank you all!

I've run my lines a few times, but have just been relaxing, watching DVDs, and a bit later I'll run the lines again.

I began the afternoon with a couple of MURDER SHE WROTE episodes.

One featured David Hemmings, Robert Walker (Jr.), Gene Nelson, Mary Jo Catlett on a mystery on a jet flying to London. One of the trickiest of the season's episodes and one of my all-time favorites.

The other featured Hope Lange, Fritz Weaver, Barry Williams, Thom Bray, and Charles Siebert in a story loosely based on "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow." I remember this episode specifically because it was the first episode of MURDER SHE WROTE that finished #1 in the ratings the week it premiered.

Then I put in Disney's SUMMER MAGIC. I remembered liking the film from seeing it in the 1960s but hadn't seen it since. Great to see Eddie Hodges as a teen (that red hair is striking in Technicolor), and of course Hayley Mills at the peak of her stardom at Disney.

The transfer is not quite as striking as THE PARENT TRAP or POLLYANNA, looks sharp enough but not razor sharp.

After I finsh SUMMER MAGIC tonight, I may put in JOURNEY TO THE CENTER OF THE EARTH, a movie I haven't watched on my larger screen TV since I got it. Should be fun to see it again after awhile away from it.

There is a game they are playing a soap chat board and I had to share since today's word is
Decolletage....

THe object of the game is to guess the scene adn when it aired....

Quote
Jack: When it comes to fashion, I’m on very shaky ground, I warn you.

Jennifer: All right, but I need you here to hold me up. Because if you weren’t here, I couldn’t do this. I just couldn’t. I’d probably quit.

Jack: Okay, if I promise to stand by your side, will you a demonstration of some of these…some of these words, like…umm…dee-co-le-tage.

Jenn: Decolletage. JACK!!!

The definition of the word follows... I just found it rather interesting that the mod of the game and bk were on the same wave length....

Quote
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
dé·colle·tage (noun)
1. A low neckline on a woman's garment, especially a dress.
2. A dress with a low neckline in front.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

And the question what was Jack doing and how did Jennifer react? [/size]

What "decolletage" means in English is "décolleté" in French!
