Well, you've read the notes, the notes spoke of Kritzerland at Sterling's 63, and now it is time for you to post until the 63 cows come home.

Congrats to MR BK & Co on what sounds like a marvelously marvelous Holiday Show.

I am old.  Do you know how I know I'm old.  I still remember Miss Andrea Marcovicci from her days on The Young and the Restless....and I still think she was one of the best things about the show.

And if I knew how to knit.

And if I had cider in the house.

I had a dream in which either I pr someone I was with was on the run for gambling debts.  i awoke to a lot of gunfire from the hitmen around 3:00AM.  For reasons i cannot fathom now I was then too terrified to turn off the lights and I nodded on and off with my bed lamp turned on.  It was also too warm inb the apartment with the comforter and too chilly slrrping under a sheet. It was a bad night.

I remember a dream in which I ran into an actress (Annaleen Beechey, maybe?) in a state of frustration; she;d been waiting in a hotel for several days for a room. Then I dreamed that the Macbeths and I were forced to fly to Florida in a tiny plane to pick up a payment, U was convinced the plane, which held o more than six people, would not make it.  My sister-in-law Lady M was her usual charmless self.

So, today's agenda is more work on the Dreidel Song and I need to look up the published score for my "Appalachian Carols" arrangement.

I also beed to drag out the published score for THE GOLDEN APPLE and check some font sizes.

So, last night's Fiddler was fun.  It made the last week seem like it didn't happen.  Larry Blank's accordion part for the 2007 London Production is a train wreck.  60% of it is the piano conductor score and the rest is right out of the original part - which I have played before.  It's taken me a week trying to figure out what to play from the p/c score, which of course is impossible to play as written on the accordion.  I think I've figured it out and have resigned to being able to play what I can.  I have a feeling the part was meant to be played on a synth, where the original was definitely written for an accordion.

But whatever.... it is what it is.

Yes, that's always the tightrope - I like to give great material to kids, but it has to work for them - when someone suggested The Worst Pies in London, that made me laugh right away and I think I'll give that to little eleven-year-old Hadley - that, to me, is a funny and interesting idea.

Had some soup and a sandwich, picked up no packages, had a nice visit with Nick Redman - and spent some headache-inducing time on the phone with Sirius radio - I've made a deal with them for all the titles we own and now have to get them something called metadata on all the tracks and it's just so confusing to me.

I suppose that any other song from "The First Nudie Musical" would be too far over the edge.

;)

Probably "Dancing Dildos," too, don'tcha think?

How about "Who Do I Have to Blank to Get Out of This Show"?

I am trying to find the Christmas spirit, without much success.  I have watched SCROOGE and I have listened to Bernard Herrmann's "A Christmas Carol" with no luck.  Next up is MAGOO'S CHRISTMAS CAROL.

Have seen Magoo and listened to the Hermann soundtrack. Scrooge will have to wait.

Tonight is White Christmas.

I"ve been working like crazy at the office to catch up on my backlog.  I'm making amazing progress.  I got an appeal brief written and filed today so I don't have any more hard deadlines until after the first of the year.  I have one more week before my own deadlines of getting caught up on all the old cases. It's very doable now.  If I make it, I'll take a lot more time off during the holidays than I initially planned.  Even if I do work, it will be part time

I called the roofing company again yesterday about the missing shingle...maybe it was today....anyway I didn't look at the roof when I came home, but the cats were acting really strange.  I'm wondering if they didn't fix it.  Strangers on the garage roof who are pounding on the roof would be just the thing to make them act like that

I looked up my next door neighbor's house online tonight and there is an offer pending.  I hope it goes through.  My neighbor has been though all sorts of tough times since her husband died last May.  She had to get a restraining order against her son and is now really frightened and stays in her room most of the time.  She really needs to move on but can't do it until the house sells.  I was glad that she got the restraining order.  Her son was having a lot of "friends" around who looked suspiciously like my criminal clients.  They've been gone since he's been gone.  Whew

I've been working at the piano most of the evening.  And trying to just not be so irritated that I take someone's head off - found out the Musical Theatre West, who does a series of staged concerts of musicals are doing Li'l Abner next year.  The guy who runs it used to be my assistant at the record label we don't name.  I've talked to him before about directing something and I've certain mentioned Abner.  I wrote him to tell him I'd love to do it, that our production was a smash and everyone loved it - he writes back and says it's one of his faves, too, but that they've already set the director.  But he heard John Massey and Maddy Parks were GREAT.  I wrote him back a terse note saying our production was incredible and that I did not understand why he would do something like this, when he clearly knows we were a smash.  What a jerk.  I suspect he'll use Massey and Maddy, and let me tell you if either of them report to me that they've used one thing, ONE thing from my production (as you know I did many things to bring the show down to two hours and make it not dated and really funny) that was of my doing, I will ridicule these people all over the damn Internet.  I'm just disgusted.
