Today, the family is getting together at my parents' house, and we'll do our gift exchanging then.  I'm sure that we'll play Phase 10.

Annabelle is definitely clogged up with a cold.  I had to clean her nose this morning.  She will eat dry food, but she's turning down the canned.  I hope this passes soon and she will not need to see a vet for a subcutaneous hydration.

I'm hearing that there is not going to be any DVD/Blu-Ray release of THE IRISHMAN.

If you didn't see it during its very brief theatrical run (to qualify for Oscar), and you don't subscribe to Netfix, there is no way that you can see it.

True or False?

Probably true for a while. Criterion is only now releasing Roma. No word on the last Coen Brothers’ movie and a few other Netflix titles I’d like to see.

I've got a few things to get done this morning before I can settle into a relaxed mode for the evening. At some point I'll have to brave running out to the supermarket for just two things. I'll get that done before noon.

TCB asked which show I was talking about yesterday.

Wreck the Halls (https://theatreworks.us/shows/display_show.php?show_id=wreckthehalls)

It's an original revue that played successfully throughout December in 2015 and 2017 and again this year.

I loved the first Star Wars movie - Part Three - and saw a couple of the other ones, but didn't care for them.....  And now I am put off by the slavic devotion of the superfans and don't pay too much attention to them.

Now that Disney owns them, I guess any additional stories will be for Disney+......

I hope I do not jinx this by mentioning it, but my walk to the bank was my first painless walking experience in many weeks.  I do not know how much is the result of my stretching and pulling experience in assembling the cat tree on Sunday, but I do know, since it's all neurological, that this could pass at any moment.  I hope it does not.

I'm sorry to say I didn't get to the Chinese for STAR WARS because that would truly have been memorable. One reason is that I'd been living in my Beverly Hills apartment for a couple of years, and for a while I was more in the habit of going to Westwood or Century City for first run films.

I ended up seeing it at the Plitt in Century City, and probably after its first few weeks. I wasn't in that first wave of audiences because I just wasn't all that excited about that kind of film. I did enjoy it, but it was then a one-time thing for me. Oddly, what I most remembered about it was the then-new and highly touted Dolby sound -- which I simply took to mean noise reduction because that's what the name Dolby meant to me then. But it was more likely the introduction of Dolby surround. After all of these years I'm still unclear on that.

Anyway, I *now* enjoy and appreciate the original trilogy. Several years ago I somehow or other figured out how to find and download the fan-edited bootlegs preserving the original versions in HD. I hear those have even been bettered since then, but it's not like I ever watch them much. I do enjoy having them here if someone else wants to see them, because they certainly do impress.

I haven't seen one minute of the prequels or sequels. No interest at all in those. I did get the Blu-ray of THE FORCE AWAKENS because I figured I'd enjoy the 3-D, but I have yet to even do that.

Still have the big laserdisc box set, "The Definitive Edition". It's impressive when seen on the shelf.  :)

My favorite Christmas food is my mother's English dark fruitcake.  Several months before Christmas she would bake several cakes in tins.  Over the months she would add brandy (I think it was brandy) to the cakes and then in December she made a marzipan topping for them.  The one served at Christmas dinner had a traditional hard white frosting and then she decorated them with her English Christmas toppings which I have.

Watching It’s a Wonderful Life for the first time in years. Hasn’t lost its charm.

The boat trip was peaceful. Felt good. We did see a few dolphins, which is odd because the water should be colder than it is.

Sadly, family drama is erupting. One sister refuses to believe Dad is in need of hospice care and is causing stress for the rest of us. And it’s not going to be nice if/when she gets slapped down to reality.

The pastor's wife asked for six dozen cookies for tonight's Christmas Eve Service. Wae-Ling and I spent about 12 hours making them. We made cut-out sugar cookies with royal icing.

The Do is Done and was a lot of fun - about twenty people in all, maybe a bit less, which is what I prefer.

Television during the holidays is not what it used to be.

Charlie Brown is still around, but not much else.

I just turned on my TV for the first time today, and I'm going to watch shows that I've already recorded.

Last night I ended up having to watch HOLIDAYS WITH THE HOUGHS.  Now Derek is a very talented dancer, and he sings well enough, plus he isn’t bad to look at.  However Julianne is over the top sweet and bubbly that it is hard to take.  She was so sickening sweet, that I had to send Nick out of the room so he wouldn’t have an insulin reaction.

I guess the Christmas special ended when Andy Williams died.  I used to love those shows.

I completely agree about her.  I didn't see HOLIDAYS WITH THE HOUGHS, but she was a judge on last season's America's Got Talent and was the same way. ::)

TCB asked which show I was talking about yesterday.

Wreck the Halls (https://theatreworks.us/shows/display_show.php?show_id=wreckthehalls)

It's an original revue that played successfully throughout December in 2015 and 2017 and again this year.

That looks like fun.

I'm watching Leslie Odom Jr., on the episode of A Little Late with Lilly Singh from the 17th (or is it considered the 18th because it's broadcast after midnight?).
