Last night we watched the first episode of the BBC adaptation of Middlemarch. It isn't holding my attention, but we'll finish it. The cast is really good.
DR Vixmom are you still sleeping at the home of the impatient?
What did the orthopedic surgeon do for your mother?
The modern major miracle was just something helpful in these stressful times, something that was much needed. Whew!
What did the orthopedic surgeon do for your mother?
Properly set the bones in the wrist and put a cast on her
Well, my niece had a grocery delivery ready from Kroger. She called Door Dash for a driver to bring it to her.
Said DD Driver texted later and said Kroger would not give him the groceries.
My niece soon discovered that the DD Driver stole her groceries.
The End.
Friday morning greetings! Sorry I didn't check in here yesterday, time kind of got away from me. The day started with a delightful delivery of Mother's Day flowers from Rob and Mary Linda.
DR Vixmom, please take care of yourself. Sometime during the course of dealing with my Mom, I ran across this quote: "You don't have to set yourself on fire to keep someone else warm." Vibes to you both!
My limp to the bank resolved the situation, and I am ashamed to admit the error was mine, not theirs.
DR Elmore, do you know music copyist Russ Anixter? I watched a short interview with him. He used to work with a Don Rice. I didn't know either of these names. He also mentioned the names Tony Kay (sp?) and Doug Besterman, both of whom are left-handed copyists which is apparently a whole 'other challenge in writing music. Anyway, he's still a proponent of doing it all by hand, even though he has relatively little chance to do so nowadays.

DR Vixmom I gather your mother is fine during the day without you? Is it her right or left wrist?
I just reported my unemployment hours to Suad, and I really like her a lot. She's quite wonderful.

That is an excellent quote.
I understand it is difficult for her to cook and clean but I would expect she can do most other things. Is her wrist still very swollen? I also know it is painful. I have a low threshold for pain, your mother's must be almost zero. My mother never tolerated us making a lot of noise about pain, something she knew too much about.

Doug Besterman is not a copyist; he is an orchestrator who works quite a lot. You'll find his Broadway shows on the IBDB. He lives in LA now and does some film work. Could this Tony Kay actually be Annie Kaye? She used to be an actress, and I worked with her on an orchestration job for Papermill Playhouse many years ago. She's a nice ladym abd I haven't seen her in so long I doubt I would recognize her.
I do not know the others you mentioned, but my last work involving a copyist was for Encores! and there are new music prep folk I've never met.

My brother is taking the day shift, he works nights
Been busy doing some "stuff" this morning, and I have to get ready to take Poe down to Cat Clinic for a quick antibiotics shot. His urine showed signs of bacteria, which has happened before, and he's getting the injection to ward off getting a UTI.
I learned that I have to voluntarily pay more for that as opposed to giving him an oral solution or tablets at home. You absolutely cannot get an antibiotic into him otherwise. He can detect one part in a billion from a hundred miles away and there's no way of disguising it in anything.

She can’t do anything herself

Augh!!
I am so tired of this nonsense. We have 477 new cases over night between the two counties here. 2949 total. That's nothing in a major city. In a city of 120,000 that's a lot and it's totally on the rise. Great time to reopen our stores....sheesh

Thank goodness you have someone nice to help you get the benefits. When does the food delivery begin?
This looks like weird fun for all you Shirley Jackson fans out there.

I'm more concerned about when/if the payments begin!
I'm making a new recipe for potato salad this evening. It's from an Irish cookbook that I love. It mixes fresh mint in a sauce slathered over the potatoes.
I never cook potatoes, but this recipe looked too good to pass up. So, I picked some up at the grocery today.
Has anyone every heard of a panache'? It's like a French version of a shandy, but worse.

I then went for a long walk. The heat has come back. It was a little sticky.
I used Montreal chicken seasoning on my roasted chicken yesterday and it was really good. I use Montreal steak a lot, but haven't used the chicken much. Not sure why.
My trip was uneventful, though there were a few people who did not have masks on, including a 2-year-old in a stroller. Mom was wearing a mask, though. Odd that you wouldn't want to protect your child.

So, my whole family use apple, i stuff and, as Gabe says "Aunt Cill is an Android". They've been doing a lot of Facetime, and I've always felt a bit out of the loop on that. I called my mom today and her caretaker said,"She can use my phone, why don't you facetime" I had to admit I couldn't because I'm an android. Anyway, I found an iPad on Best Buy on sale today so I broke down and got it.
Then after talking to my brother, we decided to get one for mom. She won't know how to use it, but Krista can help her and it will allow her to face time with her grands and great grands and me. And living in the boonies, there is more of a move toward tele-medicine. So, we'll see how it goes, but I think this could be a good thing

Montreal steak seasoning is one of the greatest seasoning blends in the universe.
DR GEORGE his other son is Bob Einstein a comedian and writer who also played Officer Judy and other characters on The Sonny & Cher Show.....and later The Cher Show.
If I am not mistaken, the father died at a Lambs Club roast of a heart attack during the festivities......

I just watched Bad Education on HBO with Hugh Jackman and Allison Janney.....
Most entertaining story about a couple of school administrators with their fingers in the pie.....
I'm watching By Jeeves, I haven't seen it before

I was just talking to our neighbor friend who's father passed away. The challenges you don't think of during these times. She can't find any place that can take donations. He had clothes with the tags still on them. She only has so much storage room.
Roy, of Siegfried and Roy has died of the virus. He was 74.

I bought the Region 2 DVD when it was first released...because I had to. ;)
Thank you. I just hadn't thought about having to clear and empty a home right now.I was just talking to our neighbor friend who's father passed away. My condolences to your neighbor friend. I'm sure that there are a lot of people now in the same situation. :-\
Sad about Roy. He's the one who survived the attack on stage, right?
If anyone's interested, ChocZero (https://www.choczero.com/) is giving away a free KF94 face mask (https://www.choczero.com/collections/all/products/covid-19-facemask) (1 per customer) with every order. I like their products, so I bought some and will get one free face mask.
Freeze warning for tonight - so I will bring in my lily, my coral bells, and my mums.
The military jets have begun flying again. Up until a couple of days ago we hadn't seen any for a long while.

My parents actually got to see them perform in Vegas. They said that their show was incredible.

I saw them when they first started in Las Vegas. At the time, they were a part of the Hallelujah Hollywood at the original MGM Grand (before it burned).
