Internet went down. On the Hot Spot.
-
Annoyingly annoying.
-
Hope it's back sooner than it was last time, when it was out for like ten hours.
-
Planned maintenance. So nice of them to let everyone know. Blechhh.
-
No estimated time to be back up.
-
Why I oughta...
-
Good morning, all!
-
Those HHW Vibes that worked for others never worked for me with that damned Ohio property and two greedy brothers, so I won't wish you healthy vibes, BK. I don't want to kill you.
What I will do instead is wish you healthy and wealthy days and that damned Covid virus far, far away from you.

I slept well for a while with Thatch and Annabelle beside me. I like this sleeping situation.
Then, around 12:30, Annabelle left the bed and never returned, and I spent too much of my waking time waiting for her return. I think she wanted to sleep in the new Amazon carton that arrivedyesterday afterenoon. Around 5:00 there was a crash; something fell or was knocked over by either Stella or Annabelle. I must go in search of the mess after kitty cleanup.
-
Good morning.
-
Finally! The audiobook of Annabelle & Thatch is now up on Amazoon.
-
And this morning, we got our fourth Amazon review from former DR PennyO.
-
Good morning.
Good morning, DR Laura. Are you planning to see Let the Good Times Roll in Phoenix?
-
TOD: Pasta salad. And potato salad.
But these days I just eat a Big Ass Salad, which is mostly lettuce, plus whatever vegetables I happen to have in the house.
-
Yes, I am, Elmore.
-
DR slingshot, did you know that Barry Humphries was also in the original London cast of Lionel Bart's Oliver!
-
How did you hear about that show?
-
They say it's the world premiere. I'm surprised anyone has heard of it.
-
TOD
I break salads into two categories: sandwich and table, so here are my thoughts:
Sandwich: shrimp. tuna, chicken
On my first trip to New York, Dec. 1966, I discovered the inexpensive Chock Full o' Nuts restaurant chain and fell in love with their shrimp salad.
Table: Cobb, tomato & mozzarella, Mexican, three-bean, macaroni, potato
-
How did you hear about that show?
My friend Jack Viertel wrote the script. They just began previews.
-
Ah. I see it later this month.
-
I haven't heard anything about it yet.
-
How did you hear about that show?
My friend Jack Viertel wrote the script. They just began previews.
Hmm, stuff that wasn't making sense is suddenly making sense. I have terrible legal problems going on that involve Jack.
-
Last night, I watched a 60-minute documentary about my friend choreographer Phil Chan, his friend ballerina Gina Pazcoguin, and their mission "Final Bow for Yellowface" (https://www.yellowface.org). The film is quite wonderful and moving, with lots of shots of the opening night cast of our ballet Star on the Rise at Indiana University.
It's really excellent.
-
I haven't heard anything about it yet.
It just started previews.
-
DR Rodzinski: It is real!

Good morning, friends.

And others.

PAGE TWO!!

DR slingshot, did you know that Barry Humphries was also in the original London cast of Lionel Bart's Oliver!
I did not! Thank you.
-
Finally! The audiobook of Annabelle & Thatch is now up on Amazon.
Huzzah! Purchased.
-
I haven't heard anything about it yet.
It just started performing August 6.
https://phoenixtheatre.com/events/let-the-good-times-roll/
-
But Larry, I had no idea that Jack Viertel was these years a friend of yours.
I know I'd have done quite a few things differently had I known that.
-
Finally! The audiobook of Annabelle & Thatch is now up on Amazoon.
Hoping that means your publisher can now start REALLY promoting Annabelle & Thatch !
-
Good morning, all.
-
Larry, be careful in that friendship.
-
Yes to any kind of salad. Coleslaw is s favorite because of the cabbage. Watermelon salad. Potato salad, as long as it’s homemade. A lettuce salad with plenty of veggies in it. I had an ice cream salad in Chile with avocado and celery ice creams. Greek village salad, aka horiatiki, is super delicious. Any type of seafood salad.
-
TOD: My favorite salad (before I started having trouble eating nuts) was a pear salad with blue cheese and arugula and walnuts.
-
How can one argue with arugula?
-
I can argue with spinach because it doesn’t like my body. Causes kidney stones.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Went down a rabbit hole on Ancestry last night, and I guess I'm paying for it now.
Time to wake up and get some things done.
-
Travel vibes for DR JANE.
-
Health vibes for MR BK.
-
Another hot day today...but maybe a thunderstorm or two.

Also egg salad, if it fits the TOD.

I'm up, I'm up - i don't know what they're doing NOW across the street, but they began doing it before seven and that is illegal. Maybe their pouring concrete.
-
They should post it over the house they built.
-
So, five and a half hours of not enough sleep.
-
Spectrum's "planned" maintenance was completed at some point but you wouldn't know it since my modem was still blinking red. It's supposed to come back automatically.
-
I called, the automated system restarted both router and modem and now everything is fine.
-
But it's still annoying.
-
Rescheduled assembly for the barstools for Thursday (tomorrow not available).
-
They're supposed to arrive today between 1:20 and 2:20.

Yes, Page Three!

No money today. Bad. Hopefully tomorrow.

I just spent a frustrating hour wrestling three cans of Hunts tomato sauce and crushed tomatoes with a POS can opener. Are cans more difficult to open these days. This can opener has been failing me constantly so I need another. DRs, what do you use that is very good?
-
Thank you Laura, I certainly hope I have more fun 😆. I haven't been to Pasadena in years. We used to work there in different locations.
-
Thank you DR George.
-
DR John, after you suggest a purchase are you notified when they get it in or when it is available for you to put a hold on it?

We are all pretty excited around here. There's a 21% chance of rain later this week. Fingers crossed.

Of course, that means there is a 79% chance of no rain.

The last rain was July 3, I think.

At the end of this Ingrid Bergman movie yesterday, the word SLUT appeared in big letters. It was for a second or two, an eternity in film time, before the subtitle The End appeared.
-
So, that’s your Swedish lesson for the day.

And who you calling slut?
-
Rain vibes for Laura.

I'm confused about why my review of Annabelle & Thatch is not showing up as a "Verified Purchase." I hope things like that don't matter for what's done with the customer reviews on the Amazon algorithm.
-
Algorithm - There's a word I think I'd used maybe 20 times (if that) before two weeks ago - I think I've used it quite a few more times than that very recently.
-
Rain cooled things down here for a bit - but now the sun is out again.
I picked up my prescription and used about 2/3rds of my Humana OTC allowance. They didn't have ANY brain/memory supplements, so perhaps I will check tomorrow at WalMart.

DakotaCelt is here. Hi, DakotaCelt!
-
Its been a LONG hot while since I drifted here. MOther nature, life changes, family issues, health, and new explorations got in the way.
I am looking forward to Larry's book. I have managed to get a few poems and short stories published in the last few years. Its a surreal experience. Oddly enough, music is one of my inspirations. Sometimes, a germ of an idea while strike when you least expect it. I was pleasantly surprised when they were selected for publication.
I have also explored photography. I have always liked it and it was during the pandemic that really plunged me back in. I have had a couple of photos selected for photo galleries. I have also explore stereo photography. (Think back to the victorian age and the mode of entertainment. One picture is in 2d and the second one is 3d. It is a side by side parallell image and it can be freeviewed.
I need to find a different pic as it would not post.. Darn!
-
DAKOTA CELT sometimes I post it first to Facebook and then post it here.....but that might not work unless we're friends on Facebook.....
-
Or post a link to where it can be viewed!
-
Hi, DakotaCelt! Welcome back!

Hi DR Dakota, it is wonderful to see you.

Rain vibes for DR Laura.

Our plan was to fly to Chicago, rent a car, and drive to Milwaukee.
-
After circling forever we began the descent to Chicago and then had to pull back up.
-
After more circling we we diverted to Milwaukee.
-
After Keith cancelled our car rental in Chicago they finally announced we would be sitting here for an hour before flying back to Chicago.
-
We aren't the only ones who want to simplify get off here. The Captain is trying to find out if we can get off
-
On the upside, I barely got sick with all the circling and ups and downs.
-

Our plan was to fly to Chicago, rent a car, and drive to Milwaukee.
That was the smart plan. Most of the time when I've been booked on a flight from Chicago to Milwaukee or vice versa, I ended up on a bus provided by the airline. Sure hope they let you off in Milwaukee, especially if you don't have any checked luggage.
-
I'm hoping that it will rain in Canada and dampen down the fires. It has been a smokey summer here this year. The last several years have been rough for smoke.
-
DakotaCelt!! Been a long dang time since our paths crossed! Hello!
-
Barstools are here - an hour late, but here.
-
Frustrating e-mail a few minutes ago.
-
Dozed off for an hour.
-
Had two smallish burgers for food from a legendary foods stand in West Hollywood - Irv's Burgers - they traveled decently and were still warm on arrival and they were pretty good.

Interesting. This is a first for us.

We are headed to a gate, still don't know if we can get off.

Barstools are here - an hour late, but here.
Yay.
-
I'm having a real issue with these pills. I took pill one, ate the burgers five hours later, thought about taking pill two but can't remember if I actually took it. This is happening repeatedly - and I don't THINK I did take it. From now one, when I eat I will take the pill out of the bottle and put it where I can see it - that is the obvious solution. I'm taking one now and hope I didn't take it earlier.
-
I'm, I'm, I don't know what I'm.
-
I'm almost to page two hundred of the manuscript - horrible, tedious, but if I don't do this no one will design thing book.
-
About 122 pages left.

They left us out of the plane. We are now taking a Lyft to our hotel.

Good news DR JANE.

Dakoka Celt! It's been a long time!
-
Yes, a pill counter. A few pill counters, actually.
Or you can ask for extra labeled bottles and split them up into morning, afternoon, evening, or whatever. Then when you take a pill, turn the bottle over.
-

DR Jane - I hope the recent bad flooding in WI, especially around Milwaukee, doesn't affect your plans.

Good news DR JANE.
Thank you.

Good night, friends.

DR Freddie, your book arrived today but I'm still reading DR John G.'s.
I've also got the previous 5 volumes arriving on Friday.
Thanks so much, singdaw!
There's duplication of sections and lyrics in the new book, which covers the first quarter century, includes full sections from volume 2, which was all about Climate and Global Warming, and sections of volume 3, which was all about the 2016 political season.

Had dinner with friends during Restaurant Weeks. Amazing Italian food. The beef marrow made me melt, it was so good. And so long since I had eaten it.

Just ordered a taco and some guacamole for my snack.

I fell asleep again, for about an hour.
