Thank you to the incompetent boobs in charge from the top on down - I now have to have a PRESCRIPTION to get my Covid 19 vaccine.
John G, congratulations on the publication date of your print edition!
Vibes for Elmore this morning.
I would also like to lessen the world's tensions by assuring everyone that I haven't left my Beach Party double-features behind.
I didn't feel like watching one after Mississippi Mermaid, but I returned to them last night with Beach Blanket Bingo which I enjoyed much more than Bikini Beach a few nights prior and found irritating for whatever reason. And I'm no expert on Beach Party history, but I was surprised to find Candy Johnson and one or two other regulars not in this one. Are they out of the series now? I'm not cheating by looking ahead, I'll just keep watching. The only movies I have are the eight in the "Frankie & Annette" box set of DVDs, so I had to skip Pajama Party which isn't included. Up next is Ski Party which will probably be tonight.
DR FREDDIE I loved BTTB as well...lots of fun.
But Miss Annette was certainly beginning to show the effects of her MS.
And I love the story she told in her book. She would be out with her husband and friends - having a drink and smoking a Lark cigarette. Someone would always stop at the table and say: "Why, Annette, I didn't know you smoked and drank."
And she would always reply: "I also have three children, guess what else I do?"
I always liked Mississippi Mermaid, which I saw when it came out, as I saw all Truffaut back then, mostly because of my love for The Soft Skin and Fahrenheit 451 - the latter has one of the most shameful Blu-ray transfers ever.

Got a nice letter today from TransUnion telling me I was unfortunately part of their latest data breach and someone got access only to my birthday and SS#.
What a joke.

We tried to schedule and the pharmacy said due to new restrictions, I can’t get one unless I’m over 65. Maybe with a doctor’s order but I gather docs won’t be doing that now.
Well, I got the official e-mail from the director of Jekyll & Hyde and I start rehearsals on Monday! :D
I applied for a couple of jobs but didn't get interviews, but just doing research on what one needs to put on resumes nowadays, and what one should do, say, how to dress, etc., if you get an actual interview was really scary. Everything seems so specific and one wrong move could put you at the bottom the the list.

Well this is a revolting development. I went to Burger King to get my monthly Family Bundle with my coupon, expiring tomorrow.

As Covid is reported to be coming back in NYC, PLEASE watch out for the elders in your life.
Remembering Dad, Naftali Landau, whom everyone called Nat, for his heavenly birthday, born Sept. 7 1920. He passed away of Covid at 100-1/2 Feb. 2021, and given longevity in the family, Covid clearly cut his life shorter than it should have been. It's a "mystery" that even with 24/7 care, he caught Covid and hadn't been vaccinated even as late as Jan. 2021, when at 100, he logically should have been among the earliest eligible for the vaccine. (His caregiver was a Miami company, which may relate to Florida's lax Covid precautions, I think.)
Here we are on what was a very happy day indeed, the bris in 1988 of my nephew David Landau, who's celebrating his birthday today, Sept. 5 (Happy birthday weekend, David Landau!) -

But the book arrived. It’s very nice greeting the new baby.
Welcome to the world!

Even more so that my greedy brother and his greedy wife had gotten me removed from the health contact list for both Mom and Dad - Because of that, I wasn't even told my Dad was in Aventura Hospital until the Rabbi's wife had tried to visit Dad and she just double-checked to make sure I knew Dad was in the hospital.
My brother and sister-in-law wanted full control over everything, financial and medical.

I was locked out of the decision making for my father. My sister did not call me so I could be there when he passed. Someone else called, and then my brother called but I arrived about 15 minutes late.
Tech issue worked out and we have what we need and now we'll find out what's what - hoping to hear later today or tomorrow.
Guy in the back house is moving to a condo.
And I found out what dear Grant was charging him for his tiny little abode and it was OUTRAGEOUS. I don't think he'll be renting it out at that price anytime soon. Robert Yacko just got a studio that's 200 MORE square feet for 1100 bucks LESS in Sherman Oaks. My fear is that if he can't rent it out he'll try to raise my rent and IF he does that I'm afraid I will be out of here, too. Don't know where but I get ten Zillow options a day that are slightly cheaper than what I'm paying for slightly larger places - this is two bedrooms - everything I look at on Zillow is three and either the same price or less. I don't really want to move at this point. And I have been looking in Palm Springs, too, but that would be wholly dependent on a whole bunch of things.
I am sick and did not have the colonoscopy this morning. Jen came down and gave me a Covid test. It was negative. I'm going back to bed.
Congratulations, Freddie.
Congrats to DR FREDDIE on his millstone.

:( Jane, I'm so sorry. Was she just a controlling person, or were there estate issues involved? Or maybe she was just hateful?
I think he may be buying a condo.
Re Covid coming back - it never went away. It's a flu variation now and isn't going anywhere.
After my sister's initial round of her chemo cocktail it seemed it worked. I was doing the study at the NIH at the time. When the cancer return within, I forget how long, they told me she would be gone in x number of months and they were right.
Before it came back I tried to get her to sign up for a trial and she wouldn't do it. Once it came back she called me to get her into a trial, which at that point she didn't qualify for any :(
