Bad news on the LaCie front: all the 2012 files I downloaded on Friday have mysteriously vanished from  the hard drive.  I don't know what the fat hell happened, but I'm downloading them again now.  This may go on for weeks.  I wish I could simply afford to purchase a new LaCie hard drive and store all the old backups there, but i've got to work fast before these corrupt 2012-2013 fles vanish forever.

The weather outside is so lousy that it is really really dark in this apartment.

Between the lights and the damned radiator, I feel I'm contributing 90% of the global warming.

I forgot: according to the fools in Congress and those who elected them, science is wrong and global warming is a myth. I guess I can turn on some more lamps and spray some aerosol cans for a while.

LaCie vibes for DR ELMORE.

Thanks, DR JRand64!  I was so certain yesterday that I was on top of the situation.

We are to the gods as flies to wanton boys.  Or something like that.

Thanks!  My biggest fear is that those 2012 files are corrupt and i can download from here to eternity and they still won't stick to the disk.

Watching the rest of a movie I started last night called "Friday the 13th," an early British talkie with Jessie Matthews and Ralph Richardson, Edmund Gwenn and a whole slew of people. Emlyn Williams wrote the script and plays a blackmailer in it. He's really good, but then again, so is everyone else in the cast.

It starts with a bus wreck and then takes you back to tell you the stories of the various people on the bus.

I'm up, I'm up - guess I should have set the alarm for ten.  But I did get about nine hours of sleep.  So, must get my wits about me and futz and finesse, then write.

I had a nice long telephonic visit with my sister, and I am pleased to report that there is no news.

DR LAURA I have never seen a Troika production that looked like they spent more than $5 on anything....and it might be non-union......

According to the playbill, they are all union members.

It would have been a great production ... if it was high school or volunteer community theater.

"Those Canaan Days" brought down the house, though. It was the best number in the show.

I've written close to seven pages so far.  I'm sure when I go back I'll be adding another page or two to this section, but I think it's okay.  So, when I get home from the fundraiser, I'll do another seven and get to the end of this chapter.

That's damning with the faintest of praise.

We were on page 4 by this time yesterday!

Backups finished again, then a difficult phone call I wish I had avoided. When caller ID is on the TV and that isn't on, you really are screwed.
