It's turned cold here. I was cold all day yesterday. Today I'm in a turtleneck and jeans and socks, and am about to put on a wool pullover.

We had a little freezing rain followed by snow.  The roads look bad online, so I'm VERY glad to be home in my house wiht my cats and a nice dinner

I can relate to that! Stay warm and stay safe.

Jane, I started making big meals for myself years ago.  I've lived alone longer than I've lived with other people, including growing up and I love to cook.  I have never really understood people who don't take the time to cook for themselves. I think it's much easier and better than going out all the time

Besides, it seems that every time I eat "nice" restaurant food I get sick.

DR Michael, I'm sorry you've had so much trouble, but glad you have a better idea now of what's wrong. I recommend Sherry Rogers, MD's NO MORE HEARTBURN. It's all about problems of the gut. (The title's misleading.) It helped me enormously. Usually available from Amazon.

Vibes for better health and a better year next year!

Paul called early this morning wanting to go out for breakfast.  It was sleeting at the time.  How insane is that?   I said no.  I'm not going anywhere

I went to Bridge of Spies with my friend Fiona yesterday.  We both loved it.   I am also thankful that she got home from about a month or so visiting her family in the UK before the recent terrorist activity started.  So is she.

Warm here for November.  But I have a feeling that DR CILLA LIZ has been posting about the weather we may be getting in a day or so.

Just being lazy and watching some USA TV thing called Mr. Robot - another SAG screener - normally they don't do this, but they sent us the entire season.  It's not terribly well written but I like paranoid thrillers so maybe I'll watch and see where it's going.  But just a note to the creator/writer - when you're lead character in the pilot has already done morphine and smoked pot repeatedly, I'm just about done with you and your show.  The character is interesting on his own, why go to such cliche land?  And when his best girl pal says, "Want to watch a movie and get high" you know you're dealing with a creator/writer with arrested development and that this is more about him than his characters.

I finished the laundry around 3:00 and took a nap.  Since then, I've put the laundry away, carted several cartons and other trash to the basement, and I'm pondering dinner.  I'm ready to go back to bed, and once i take my muscle relaxer and the Tylenol with codeine, the drugs will knock me out.

Considering we are doing Thanksgiving tomorrow at an in-law's house, I threw together a nice little feast for the three of us tonight.

The neighbor asked about turkey soup, so I helped him take the meat off the bones and get the pot ready to make the stock.

The two types of brussels sprouts were wonderful.

The four types of pies were great.

Watching Scrooged for the first time since I saw it in the movie theaters. Overblown but funnier than I remember.

I was just about to get into the shower this morning when I heard my phone vibrate (don't know why it doesn't ring; I'm still learning this phone). It was an 800 number. Sigh. It was Discover card, asking whether certain transactions were mine. Yes on Amazon, no on iTunes. I suppose we all go through this from time to time. I had to cancel the card. It'll be about a week before I have a new one. That's not a problem, but that particular card number is embedded about a dozen places. THAT'S the problem. I pulled out my bill and am making a list of the accounts which need to be changed. I think only one needs attention right away. Sigh.

Happy Thanksgiving.

Our Thanksgiving dinner was a success.  There were only 6 of us, but we had a good time.  Our friend Betty brought 2 bottles of this year's Beaujolais Nouveau and I'm about to polish off the second one.
