The library has done something strange. They have changed their rules. You used to be able to check out a DVD for a week. Now you can get it for three weeks.

The library where I work has a three-week loan period for TV series and most non-fiction films. Otherwise feature films can be checked out for one week.

We watched John Carpenter's "The Thing." It was actually very good. No CGI anywhere and it didn't need it. I hadn't seen it before and I was sitting next to my friend Kevin who also hadn't seen it.

There were two moments in the film where we both literally jumped out of our seats! I don't think I've ever jumped like that during a movie before.
