DR John I hope the weather is better in San Antionio than it has been since we left Luckenbach.  This has been the prettiest section we have driven so far but fog kind of ruined it.  We too are looking forward to tonight.

Bummed to learn that Moonlight is playing now but is leaving Sunday. Maybe they'll bring it back.

Well, goddam!  The new tenant above me just had a flushing problem, and my bathroom is now flooded with water.  I've lost a lot of books to water damage and I can only hope we caught the problem before the ceiling falls in.

Just enjoyed the loveliest Christmas card from DR Elmore.  Many thanks to you, sir!

As did I!  Thank you again, Larry! :-*

DR JANE is enjoying the flora and fauna in Texas. Linked from BookFace, so if you're not a member, you may not see it.

If anyone can't see that, you should be able to see this:

It's really a great picture, Jane!

Thank George.  It is very Christmasy.  My favorite photo of the trip, so from, is with my new cowboy hat.  I have always wanted a nice cowboy/cowgirl hat but they have always been too large for me.  I went back to the store 3 times before deciding to buy it.  I used to wear nice hats all the time.  Now I mostly wear caps.

Had bacon and eggs, did some stuff, and am now thankfully back home.  I'll go to the mail place around two.  This has not been my favorite day thus far.  Hoping that CHANGES.  Like now.

Oh, Elmore! I am so sorry to hear about the water problem. I hope it gets fixed with a minimum of hassle.

And I am back at the car place, where they are replacing one of the new tires I just bought from them a couple of weeks ago, which just went flat!

Oh, Elmore! I am so sorry to hear about the water problem. I hope it gets fixed with a minimum of hassle.

Our new super, Val, is really good, and he was on top of the leak.  After he stopped the flushing and flooding, he went into my bathroom with a ladder and pail and opened all of the bubble pockets of water in the ceiling to drain them. I've now washed the towels and rug in the bathroom, and it all seems to have dried okay.  He said he'd be back in a couple of days to see how the area was drying and to set any more repairs in motion. He and his wife are a lovely young couple from Albania, and we are very lucky to have him.  He was an English teacher in Albania and his English is wonderful.

I loved our late super Steve but he had a hard time with the English language.  Tomorrow I will go over to Holy Trinity Church and pray for his soul along with that of my family.

Whew, DR Elmore!  Thank goodness Val was able to address the water problem right away.  That's the kind of thing that usually happens here when we have a houseful of company for some holiday or another.   It's usually the garbage disposal.

Richard and I went perilously close to Dayton Mall for me to pick up a book at a branch of my former employer.  We got into just the edges of the traffic and that was bad enough.  Had lunch at a deli we like in Springboro and now we're in until we have to leave for Lima early tomorrow afternoon.
