I'm definitely having trouble with my eyes. Earlier this year the ophthalmologist told me I might have a secondary cataract. She wanted me to see another ophthalmologist, but the referral never went through. I've spent many hours trying to hunt down referrals--long hold times, then the person tells you it's not their job, etc. It really is maddening. I'm changing health plans on Jan 1 and, given the long wait, knew I wouldn't be able to get in before the end of the year. Now I have to wait until next week, try to get into my new primary quickly, then get into an ophthalmologist quickly. I'm joining Cedars-Sinai. I certainly hope they're better than UCLA. I'll have my old primary care physician again. He and I get along well. He was as disgusted with UCLA as I was.
