Today...?

Well, let's see.  Today I must go out and clear some more of yesterday's damned Inch.  Our plow guy (neighbor) must be away because he never plowed, so I ran the snowblower up and down the driveway a couple of times just to get out and back in, in reasonable fashion, last night.  But there's some more I need to do to have it a little more usable for tonight's par-tay guests.

And of course, tonight is our closing performance, so I will be out - I think - to nearly midnight on this coast.  I might have to celebrate the New Year here in Central Time!

Larry and vixmom - Are you allowed to tell us what that person at the talkback was trying to stir up controversy about?

The show's around eleven years old, and Jim Morgan was talking about its evolution.  The authors added the quote "Make Arizona Great Again" to the villain's song for this production, and she was trying to force the issue of how much politically the writers were drawing comparison between a lecherous governor in the show and the current lecherous moron calling himself a president.

How did Arizona get dragged into this?

Way back, many many years ago, when DR Sandra was probably a preschooler, Arizona had quite the governor fiasco. Some local folks wrote a show about it. It was hilarious, and pretty much true. Plenty of material: Evan Mecham, Fife Symington, Rose Moffard.

I tried looking for it on youtube, and didn't find it there.

I have a busy day today. After church I will set up for the soup party this evening.

I will spend some time in the church kitchen making a cherpumple. It is way easier to make it on site than to try to transport one.

Some day I want to learn how to make a croquembuche, but for now, I think the cherpumple is more my speed.

The show takes place in Arizona territory before statehood.

I covered two plants. It’s too drizzly and nasty to tend to the other two yet.

When we had our first staging of “Moonshine and Mistletoe,” than called “Christmas Up the Holler,” in Hilton Head, we decided to add a New Year wish to send the audience off at the end of the show after the bows. I don’t remember if this decision was my wonderful collaborator DJ Salisbury’s, our mighty musical director Brent Frederick’s, or our wheeling’-dealin’ producer Kevin Duda’s, but this is a good wish for an audience leaving a holiday show, and a good wish to end any year.

This past March, we recorded much of the score for “Moonshine and Mistletoe” with an excellent cast.  Here’s wishing you a good 2018!

New Year's Eve afternoon greetings!  It'll probably be a quiet one for us, because Richard has an awful head cold.

DR vixmom and I had a wonderful day yesterday.  Good company is the best medicine, and it was a wonderful, crisp wintery day of good company and good humor.

I am very happy the weather and/or illness did not prevent the day from happening.

It's supposed to be freezing weather at night here in Austin for the next 3-4 days.

Hopefully, that will dissuade noisy New Year's revelers in our neighborhood, since we're usually asleep by eleven.

It was freezing last year when we were there, didn't seem to keep people at home.  Good luck it is quiet.

We will not be celebrating at midnight when we have another 5:00am meet I g time for our morning safari.

The lodge assigns you to the same tour guide during your visit.  We are very happy with ours and have a very nice family of 6 in our group.  They plan to party tonight and make it to their last safari before leaving tomorrow.   I wonder if they will are make it.  A few of them napped and missed the sunset safari where we saw a pride of lions.
