Back to Deathstalker. It's truly, wonderfully bad.

I had to play a knight today while ushering for the theater's open house. Knight of the woeful spectacles.

I was there to push Spamelot. Under four layers of heavy fabric, I renamed myself Dam'it's Hot.

Come Blow Your Horn is strange. I can't imagine Frank Sinatra as the love child of Molly Picon and Lee J. Cobb.

Has anybody here seen the TV ads for the new USA series, THE PURGE?

The premise, as I understand it, is that, for one day a year, people can commit any crime they want (e.g. robbery, murder) without consequences.

Maybe I'm just too old to understand, but I think that is the dumbest, most irresponsible premise for a TV series, or even a movie, that I've ever seen.  I can't imagine who would "green light" such a project.

There are so many sick people out there (e.g. today in Jacksonville, FL), and a show like this will certainly give them ideas.

You should consider being like Katharine Hepburn, and get 7 outfits like it.   And versions for all seasons.

This entire day has been writing blurbs, getting things ready for the announcement, it just never ended until now really.  I ate at Hugo's - not my intention, but after trips to both Gelson's and their hot food bar food being completely retarded, I just went.

I'm home, and have been for a couple of hours.  And since we're so close...

This new TV series was based on a couple of (financially) successful horror movies, if I remember correctly.  But still...why??

Well, I'd better get my butt outta bed and get myself ready to meet my uncle!  I have a few things to do before I go to my parents' house and I've dilly-dallied enough.

Be back later!

I met my uncle Michael and his wife Suzie (sp?) and their two sons Max (age 15) and Poldi (nickname for Leopold, don't know how old he is, but maybe 12 or 13).  They're all very tall!  Max is the tallest at 6'3"!  Even Suzie is taller than me and I'm 5' 9-3/4"!  They are all very nice.  Michael and Suzie speak English and the boys are learning it.  This is not the first time that any of them have been in the states.

I got to my parents' house at about noon and they got there at about noon-thirty.  Mom had some finger food and we chatted (hesitatingly at first), then my sister and her daughter and Larry showed up.  We all got to know each other and chatted and then ate spaghetti and drank diet Pepsi and Fresca and water and chatted some more.

We didn't play Phase 10.  We all just met each other and there were too many people.

Originally, they booked a Motel 6 here in Tumwater, but when they decided to change their arrival time, they decided too look at other options closer to my parents in Lacey (about 10 miles away) and found one that was a little more expensive, but much nicer.  It also has a pool and a sauna, so the boys were very happy about that.

A lot of German was spoken, so not everyone understood everything, but once in a while we could get the gist of what they were talking about.  Some words are the same in German as in English...or maybe my mom just uses the English word when she couldn't remember or didn't know the German word, so that helped a bit.

While Suzie was the most outgoing of the four, Michael and the boys weren't completely shy, at all.  We all seemed to enjoy each other's company while we were getting to know each other.

I think that tomorrow they are going to go to Mount St. Helens (just the four of them), and then my parents will take them to the casino for a prime rib dinner.  Michael and Suzie were very excited about that.  Tuesday, they're going to go to Seattle and we'll all get back together again and have tacos.  They said that they all love tacos.  Of course, you can put just about anything on a taco.
