TOD:
I like muenster, jack, pepper jack, and cheddar. I'm not fond of processed cheeses, like American, and I don't like Swiss. Ricotta and mozzarella are very nice for cooking (like in a lasagna). When I've gone to those build-your-own pizza places, I've tried the different cheeses they offer, like feta or goat cheese, but it never really adds anything, and it's never as good as good ol' mozzarella.

I've tried those "other" cheeses on pizza, too, and you can have them. For me they're totally unsatisfying, and negate what a pizza is all about.

I'm with ChasSmith on pizza - I don't care if people build their own things, just don't call it pizza. I'm a pizza traditionalist - pepperoni, plain, sausage, maybe onions, maybe mushrooms and that is IT. No pineapple, barbecued chicken, fish, pesto, and whatever other concoctions they come up with - pizza is pizza.

We ate American cheese growing up and it was my favorite cheese. At some point Keith & I switched to white American because the orange American cheese was being referred to, health wise, as flavored cardboard. Eventually we stopped using it all together.

Yesterday morning we were expecting the dry wall guys to arrive at 9:00. At 8:00, before we were dressed they rang the doorbell.

We then expected them to work until around 4:00. Nope, the left around noon and said they would return today to finish the job. When questioned they said maybe 9:00. They are still not here.

Also haven't cooked a hot dog on the store in forever. These days we all prefer putting them on the grill and getting them a bit charred, regardless of which style of hot dog any of us is going for.

I guess we don't eat hot dogs in winter...

29 days since I broke my elbow, 16 days since my surgery, 12 days of this cold...call me weary

5 days without a cast is good though my progress is very slow. I overdid the stretches a bit yesterday and had to back off a little.

I am now off for the closing night of BAREFOOT IN THE PARK and the closing night of the 2018 season of Putnam County Playhouse. We will strike the set, clean up the barn....and put a period on the summer that started for me in April with ANNIE auditions.

A year ago, I would not have thought it was possible for me to do a full season of shows - I appeared in two, assistant directed one of those, and directed another....and I am set to appear in a fourth at another venue.

So...I somewhat underestimated my recovery, because it has not been easy - and of course other events this summer were wearing....but I made it....or at least I WILL HAVE MADE IT - in just eight days....

Back from auditions. Only one of the two was right for the part - we offered it to him and he has to work out about four conflicts. Nobody who auditioned is ideal but I think I can work with this one and get what I need.
