I started a diet last week.  So far, I've lost 7 days.  (Henny Youngman joke)

Back from the dentist, where all was - fortunately - well.

I had one back tooth that needed scaling because it had been so hard for me to reach and take care of. Fortunately, I'd just recently taught myself how to get back there the right way after all these years, and she could already see a difference. She numbed me and got it done in ten minutes.

Keep up the good work and maybe you won't need it at all next time.

This is one of those once in a blue moon things. She did my whole mouth when I first went to her about eight years ago. Sometimes people need that done again later but I just needed it in this one place. Now that I’m tending to it properly, I shouldn’t ever need it.

That's great.

We are home from the vet.  Annabelle has had her nasal passages flushed and her nails trimmed, along with her rabies shot.

The best news is that her small spot of hair loss on her side, which is growing back, is not ringworm.  I didn't think it was, since Thatch wasn't showing any signs, but I am very happy for the confirmation.

Good news regarding the patch.  I hope it will be a long time before she needs her nasal passages flushed again.

Listening to the Bill Cosby sentencing today, I couldn't help but think of all the people I've met and/or known over the years (including Cosby), who subsequently were "involved" with sensational criminal cases.

Gig Young killed his wife, then himself.
Christian Brando killed his sister's boy friend.
Robert Blake was acquitted in the murder of his wife.
Susan Cabot was murdered by her son.
Eddie Cannizzaro claimed to have killed "Bugsy" Siegel.

Barbara Payton, arrested for prostitution, used to be my neighbor.

There was another murder in the late 1960s, a Hollywood acting coach, whose name I can't recall.

Then there was another guy in the 1970s who claimed to have been a Mob hit man. Thankfully, I don't recall his name either.

That's Hollywood.

In the early 1990s I worked at the Drama Book Shop with a young African American actress who had worked with Cosby.  She said the world would probably never know what a perv he was.

Then you weren't surprised when the allegations against him started.

Larry, did you see the new offerings from Footlite? One is a DVR of the Gentlemen, Be Seated live recording.

I saw the 2-CD set of the 1963 performance. Is there a DVD too?

Sorry. I meant CDR.

I've had the performance on mp3 files for years.  it's not complete.  It's missing the opening of Act two.

The new mouse may be an improvement since it plugs into the computer and not into the keyboard.  However, the keyboard  . . .

Well! I had to register it to use it and I crashed and burned.  I decided it was Japanese-manufactured and now none of the keys are correct.  So I'm back on the old keyboard.  I will have to call Apple Care to see if they can help me tomorrow.  Damn!

Maybe you need Annabelle's Fancy Feast-Purina Party Mix diet?

In tonight's "you can't save them all" category.

Every day the Manhattan animal centers post a list of the next day's canine and feline euthanasia victims. Ur's bad enough these places are killing factories, but my other grudges against them are that their often poor photos don't make the animal look attractive, they screw up genders by referring to an animal as "he" in one paragraph and "she" in another in discussing their specifics, they often don;t give correct information about the anmal, and they often assign feminine names to masculine animals and vice versa to really screw up your mind.  You may find that a cute cat named Buster is really a female, etc.

Every night there is at least one cat or dog I'd adopt in a second to save its life, and very often I happily learn later that it was rescued or adopted at the last minute.  I'm afraid this beautiful baby was not saved today, and I wish I could have saved him.  It doesn't help that MACC in one paragraph about the cat claims he is two years old, and in another that he is 10 months old! In addition the pronouns he and she are tossed about indiscriminately that we can only hope the original assessment of male is correct.  You can't save then all, but it kills me that they killed him.

Back from my Keto lunch - cobb salad with oil and vinegar as dressing - no bagel.  Why haven't I dropped ten pounds?

I'm trying a Beto prayer lunch. Hoping it will drop Ted Cruz. (just a joke, nothing political meant)

Got my Beto sign for the front yard.

So, JohnG is on the Beto diet and I'm on the Keto diet.  I had my second Keto meal - scrambled eggs, onions, and a bit of shredded cheese - very good, actually, but I have not lost one pound yet.  This diet is a hoax.

Finished with my viewing.  The third Department Q film - MUCH better than the one I watched last night - easy to follow story, great villain, and much better directed (different director).
