In tonight's "you can't save them all" category.
Every day the Manhattan animal centers post a list of the next day's canine and feline euthanasia victims. Ur's bad enough these places are killing factories, but my other grudges against them are that their often poor photos don't make the animal look attractive, they screw up genders by referring to an animal as "he" in one paragraph and "she" in another in discussing their specifics, they often don;t give correct information about the anmal, and they often assign feminine names to masculine animals and vice versa to really screw up your mind. You may find that a cute cat named Buster is really a female, etc.
Every night there is at least one cat or dog I'd adopt in a second to save its life, and very often I happily learn later that it was rescued or adopted at the last minute. I'm afraid this beautiful baby was not saved today, and I wish I could have saved him. It doesn't help that MACC in one paragraph about the cat claims he is two years old, and in another that he is 10 months old! In addition the pronouns he and she are tossed about indiscriminately that we can only hope the original assessment of male is correct. You can't save then all, but it kills me that they killed him.
