I should think that while I'm writing the notes we'd best just get off this damn page.

Listening to music is what I'm currently doing.  I could watch The Old Man and the Gun via streaming, but I just don't like watching stuff on my computer screen and am hoping we get a screener.

Could you hook up your computer to your TV (if they're close enough)?

Looking for Duck Fat - that's the title of my next novel, a story of Chinatown in Los Angeles.  When a dead body turns up wor wonton soup, Detective Lo Lo Mein is on the case and is sure the killer belongs to the Duck Fat clan.

I want to read it.

So do I!

Well, I need to leave work now.  I'm going to my sister's to make a cheesecake for Thanksgiving, and to also help her put up some shelves, or something like that.

Be back later.

Well, the chocolate turtle cheesecake is done and cooling in my sister's fridge.  Here's a picture:

More foolishness from DR TCB's production staff....now I am not sure - but my first guess would be that some if not all of them have recently been through theatre classes at some kind of learning institution and know exactly how EVERYTHING should be done.

I suspect you are correct.  They certainly couldn’t learn a thing or two from some old fogey who has been doing this for sixty-three years.

My last experience of this is from a young man - recently married to one of the worst stage managers I ever worked with, and who both graduated in the last year from a Theatah Prograhm at a local college  NOT DePauw....

She is working in a newly formed "professional" company in a town a couple of counties over.  He was talking to me during the intermission of BAREFOOT IN THE PARK saying dismissively that he could never work at my theatre because we don't do serious stuff.....and all we do is "toy" theatre.

I asked him what he was doing next.  His family owns what is left of a restaurant somewhere in the middle of the woods somewhere, and he is doing - or wants to do - WHO'S AFRAID OF VIRGINIA WOOLF? - and set it at the restaurant where George and Martha are vacationing.....

I said the setting of the university is pretty endemic to the plot, and he didn't seem to think it would make any difference, and that his idea is the best and smartest ever to have come around...I think he is playing George as well....he is 24, I think....

I asked his wife what she thinks of the idea, and in her own dim way all she said was:  Where will I find a gun that shoots an umbrella?

I almost want to go see it....ALMOST....

I would have said that you were making that whole story up, except I know a theater genius who would have loved to be part of that production of Virginia Woolf.

Apparently, everybody else knew they were in for a wait, because they all helped themselves to the free unshelled peanuts.

Also, I didn’t realize that I needed to stop by the credit union to get a personal loan to pay for my food.
