If the TOD means one food, that would be matzoh ball soup.

Strangely, when a collaborator Ellen Schwartz would order from Artie's Deli, the cheese blintzes were always great, even extraordinary.  But I had them in person with the group before an HHW event at the Triad, and that night they were blah and ordinary.

That's too bad. :-\

Is the slogan "Make Blintzes Great Again"  too political?  :)

No! ;D

As it happens, FJL, my first ever deli food was cheese blintzes. For what it’s worth, I always ordered the blueberry, and I remember it was in precisely those same years that I had “discovered” and become enamored of blueberries in preserves and such.

Every year here in Olympia, Temple Beth Hatfiloh hosts Blintzapalooza!  They are delish! :D

Tuesday afternoon greetings!  So, we headed out the back door of our hotel about 7:45 this morning for a 9am library orientation at DAR and I tripped on the uneven sidewalk.  An ambulance ride and ER visit later, we were back here to nurse the 7 stitches under my right eyebrow.  There are photos on Facebook...

Oh, no! :o

More garage organizing and tossing - found some interesting home-grown stuff, but no tapes.

Listening to music is what I'm doing - more FSM CDs, currently the expanded John Barry King Kong score - sometimes expanded is nice, sometimes the original LP program plays better, if you get my meaning.

My meaning became your meaning once you got my meaning, which means I got your meaning, which is now my meaning.

What’s that verse Bobby Short used to sing:

Oh dear, if I could only say what I mean,
I mean if I could mean what I say,
That is, I mean to say that I mean to say that
I like the likes of you.

I think it was Yip Harburg.

George, I was just at CD Exchange. They wanted more than $40 for a used Copy of Manhattan Transfer’s Vocalese DVD.

I bought it new and was able to get it autographed the first time I saw them at Jazz Alley in Seattle! :D

Well, my dad called and asked if I could come over and figure out why the headphones that he uses for his TV don't work.  He's been losing his hearing and these help.  And he just changed the batteries, so I'll have to troubleshoot.

Be back later.

Went back out to the garage and did more stuff and found more stuff, so that's good - but NOT the tapes from the hall closet - very disturbing, actually.  Still a couple of boxes to go through, but once they get this shelving unit out it will be completely clear in there and I've almost got everything on shelves now so I'll be able to find stuff, I should think.

So, last night, I watched the extras on The Guardians, including an interview with the director, Xavier Beauvois. Tonight's feature, Claire Denis's Let the Sunshine In, begins with a lengthy sex scene featuring Beauvois and Juliette Binoche. Rather disconcerting. And his character in this film is a real ass. He plays it well.

I spoke with Mom. Dad did very well despite being 91 and dealing with anesthesia. The doctor was pleased with the result, which she couldn't understand. But then, she never could understand anything a doctor or anybody else ever said to her about anything medical at all. In the past, she would tell us friends were in the hospital dying and they were actually there for something like a kidney stone, while other friends who had heart attacks were in the hospital for nothing, in her book.
