Tonight is our dress rehearsal and production photos.

Last night was a tech night which was okay.  The director said we had to wear costumes, which was kind of unnecessary, but that's okay.

Then three times during the notes the director and his tech director congratulated themselves on have a REAL tech rehearsal which is NEVER done at this theatre...NEVER....

Which is not true...but let them think as they will.  I don't think either will be working here again....at least I hope not.  Why would you do nothing but bad mouth the people who give you an opportunity?

Oh....and of course the heat pump stopped working during the night  BUT someone is coming this afternoon OR tomorrow to fix the connection....

Yikes! :o I don't think that I'd ever work again at a place like that.

The most painful reading I’ve sat through was the play version of THE HAUNTING OF HILL HOUSE. It was done on our I DO! I DO! set, in front of back wall of the turntable that was turned to obscure the main trappings of the set. The director gave her introduction, then walked behind the wall of the turntable from whence she proceeded to yell out (not being miked) the stage directions throughout the play. She thought the disembodied voice would provide a more effective ambience. It was hideous.

Yikes, too!

I will be leaving for the airport in a few hours.  On my way to see Barbra in London.   The concert is part of "British Summer Time."   It takes place in Hyde Park.    It's an "all-standing" event.   Not looking forward to that part.

Sound like fun...except for the standing part!  Can you have something like THIS?

I've bathed and fed the cats.

Do they like baths?

That's the first thing that I thought, too! :))

I am home from my appointment.  I liked Dr Keenan very much.  My face is numb because she had to examine my sinuses and the procedure is painful.  I do not haver an allergy problem.  I have nasal polyps and pansinusitis, and I need to make an appointment for a CT scan of my sinuses.  I also have a steroid spray and prescription for for antibiotics.

And on a sad note, Sid Ramin, Oscar-Winning Composer-Arranger, Dies at 100:

But wow...100 years old!

No check again today and no City Center direct deposit.  I do not know why life has to be so damned difficult.  I was asked weeks ago about my interest to score a holiday musical.  I would think, if they want to perform it this 2019 holiday season, that it needs to be scored and copied ASAP, whether they hire me or someone else. And I wait for a yea or nay.

We have some good news here.  In February we are to become grandparent's.  I alternate between tears of joy, shock, and disbelief.  I am afraid to be happy & excited.

Has anyone seen a French crime drama called Captain Marleau? I got the first six episodes from the library. Gerard Depardieu is in the first episode.

Garage is basically done - now the rest is me organizing the stuff that hasn't found a shelf yet.  But I could conceivably pull my car in there tonight.

The problems with Facebook are also happening on Instagram and Twitter - they're "trying to fix it" they say.

It's so nice when garages can actually hold ... you know, "cars". We have that same issue here.

Well, it's almost time to leave for the bustling Danbury Airport for an extremely fun evening. Weather couldn't be better, both for this evening's and tomorrow's fireworks, not to mention the flying (if we do it) and any other stuff. I will try for a bit of photographic evidence.
