DR Jrand69, I am sick at the pictures we never took in a couple of our houses. Even the ones in which we snapped a few, it’s a pittance. Missed opportunities, man. We did take pictures, but not with any methodology or intent. We had no idea what a simple picture of a house could mean.

Good morning, all. Happy Boxing Day!

Boxing Day is such a major day in Canada. You would not believe how many people go Boxing Day shopping. It's crazy.

When we lived in Pennsylvania my friend introduced me to Boxing Day by shopping at one store in town that we loved.  We put the kids in the long line while we picked up Christmas items at great prices for the following year.

I can't recall shopping on Boxing Day at any other store.

The house next door to my childhood home has been demolished & a larger house built.  I fear my home will be next.  Our driveways were side by side.  A number of years ago I was shocked to find a wall was put up dividing them. Growing up we had great fun playing on the double driveways.

We went to Little Women today. Sold-out showing. Highly enjoyable, solid three-star work. Not great. Won’t make you forget previous versions, but better than not.

We’re getting videoed (is that a word yet?)* tomorrow night. I don’t know who’s doing it, so the quality will be somewhere between decent and execrable. Nor do I know if I’ll get a physical copy of it. If I do, I might be able to post a tiny snippet.

*What DO people call it nowadays? I think many still say “taping” and a smaller few say “filming”...

I say video recording...that way, the physical or electronic format doesn't matter. ;)

I also tend to be literal, which is why I don't say Saran wrap for any kind of plastic wrap, or tin foil for aluminum foil.

We used to live in Colorado, and when my dad retired from the army, we moved here to Washington state.  We had a camera that used actual film ( it was the 1970s, you know) with which we took a picture of our Colorado house.  Then when we got here to Washington, we took a picture or two of our (then) new Washington home.  But somehow the film didn't advance and we have one picture that has multiple images from both the Colorado and Washington houses!  I don't know where the actual picture is now, but I'm sure I scanned it at some point.  I wonder if I still have it on my computer at home.  If I can remember, I'll try to look for it sometime. :)

I could see BK’s objections. But I also found, at this time, some of the family moments to be quite moving.

I don’t know if we’ll see anything else at the theater here. No interest in Uncut Gems, Jujmanji or Star Wars. Too many kids movies.

I’ve been watching TV, but that has been boring, except for It’s a Wonderful Life.

That second one is a good friend who went along on a couple of pleasure flights. Fortunately, he's not flying the plane there.

Not sure who the weird guy is in the first photo.

Now aren't you sorry you said that, DR vixmom?

No, just sorry I didn’t meet you 40 years earlier!

Finished Know My Name. Brutal memoir of sexual abuse. Chanel Miller is an excellent writer. Her tale is hard to process. I hope her honesty brings about some changes.

The balance is down to about $9,300, but with a budget of $3,500,000, that's not too bad.  Now, I just need to do the fiscal year roll-over tomorrow with my supervisor so that she can see how it happens, then it's on to the (fiscal) new year!
