But I’m up and awake, so that will be that.

Today i’m attending my first ever British “Panto”, out of curiosity and because I know people in it. I shall also relish being an audience member for the first time in too long a while.

That’s a matinee, and their closing show, so I’ll stick around and socialize for a bit. Then off I go to another theater for a production meeting. And tomorrow evening I’m back at — what else? — why, rehearsal, of course.

A couple of friends and I need to get tickets for Mack & Mabel which we just realized is in February. I don’t know why I thought that one was later. And because of our own February show, we can only see either the Wednesday or Thursday performance. I look forward to getting into that score.

So the Panto is directed by a delightful Brit local who was steeped in the tradition, and though doing one wouldn’t be my own cup of tea, I’m looking forward to it. Its venue even has a touch of British music hall ambiance. It’s also where we did Cabaret. Nice intimate 120-seater.

Damn it to HELL, I just sneezed. Three times.

It's not a cold. Just allergy sneezing, which has oddly persisted through the first part of winter. Every couple of days I enjoy a couple of good sneezing fits. And it's getting old. But the woman who gave me my flu shot said many people around here are experiencing that this year.

Oh wow I wish I knew about this.  I went to my one and only Christmas panto in Coventry at the Belgrade theatre back in 199o.   Vixdad and I were visiting his parents before they emigrated to Canada.  It was so much fun.  I wonder if they will be able to engender the necessary audience participation.

Anyhoo, I ordered the original cast CD.

I used to have it on vinyl, but didn't find it on my shelf. I must have deemed it a copy not worth keeping in one of my purges.

I'm hearing that they've done very well with that. I'm not an audience participation kind of guy, myself, but I'll bury myself in the audience and enjoy the experience.

This theater group has done these in the past, and always in the hands of a good Brit. But not in the last few years. I was asked to play or MD one several years back, but I knew it wasn't my thing. I'm sorry, however, that I didn't get to any before this.

I don't think they're planning one for next year, but I'll find out for sure today. I'll tell the producer and director you said that, and that there's an audience for these from outside the immediate area. I mean, they might know where SOME of their audience comes from, but they don't know about the VIXES.  :)

We’re going to see Harriet in an hour. They didn’t even have it on the marquee, but they sold us tickets anyway. Maybe it’s in one of those Harry Potter halfway theaters.

Amazon, CDs.

It's probably London, with Howard McGillin and Caroline O'Connor.  It matches the current rental score.

Alas, it still isn't as comfortable as my old case on my old tablet, and it weighs more.  Weight is a big deal for me because of my shoulder.

DR JohnG, I send my condolences.  It seems to me he went rather quickly and that's all for the best.  Are you heading to Kentucky from Florida?
