It’s weird being the same age as old people

On Christmas day Keith's uncle turned 92.  Within 2 days he was in the hospital with the flu and now has pneumonia. He is doing better.  Fingers crossed he can go home tomorrow.

Vibes for a quick recovery!

Thank you.

Though my pre-diabetes is not what is currently making me sick.  I had reduced my chocolate due to it, which was a good idea while I slowly reduced my other medication that allowed me to eat chocolate without getting sick.

What does your doctor consider OK?

My doctors hasn't said much.  I did the tests on my own because my glucose continued to be high.  Chocolate makes me sick and is painful because of my GERD.  The upside of trying to control my pre-diabeties results with diet was it helped reduce my GERD symptoms since I had drastically reduced my chocolate intake.  Now I know.

Then it was 6.7 last month, which sounds like a big change for the worse.  But the finger-sticky sugar number was great he said.

Thanks for all the detail.  I am trying to understand all this in case the day comes that I need medication.

Time to head home where I'm going to watch The Creature Wasn't Nice. :)

Until later.

Well, I have watched BK's Director's Cut.

It's so much better than the theatrical version!

My doctor told me as long as I can keep my A1C under 7.0, he wouldn't worry.

That's fine that he wouldn't worry, but when can I worry?

My doctor wants to keep me under 5.6.  I just had it checked a couple of weeks ago, and it still was.

He wanted me to try Metformin because when I was in the hospital in June, it had zoomed up to 7-point-something the day if the operation.

When I was first diagnosed, my A1c was 8.4! :o I've been taking Metformin ever since and it's been effective.  I don't mind taking it, and I haven't experienced any side efects...that I know of.

Do you work tomorrow, George?

Yes.  All the libraries close at 6:00, so I'll use one hour of vacation (I'm not going in early), but I didn't ask to take the day off.

I climbed on the bed to watch WORLD NEWS TONIGHT.  I watched that, but then fell asleep and slept the entire evening.

I bought myself a pecan pie this afternoon.  I was hoping they would have some half pecan pies, but no such luck.

Glad George finished the film and shared his thoughts.  Now, perhaps he'll write a little Amazon review, which would really be helpful, actually.
