Wednesday afternoon greetings!  Here I am, just hobbling around and trying to keep myself occupied.

Have you been reading?

Yes, DR Jane.  Yesterday I finished SILVER BAY by Jo Jo Moyes and today started Elizabeth Gilbert’s CITY OF GIRLS.  And I’ve slept a lot.

And, apparently, I found page 3, but someone else will have to dance.

So, I had a credit from Southwest from when Dad died. It was going to expire. And I didn’t want that to happen. So, i bought a ticket for a few days in San Fransisco for the beginning of March. I’ve never been. Any recommendations?

I've never been to San Francisco, but I wouldn't mind eating on Fisherman's Wharf.

I did get a reservation for Chez Panisse in Berkeley.  I tried 12 years ago, but couldn’t get in.

I hope it does not disappoint.

While in Berkeley drive around the old Victorian Homes in Haight Ashbury.

I think Haight-Ashbury is in San Francisco, not Berkeley.

Did you like SILVER BAY?  I did.  I will be curious of your reaction to CITY OF GIRLS.  I had to read it for my book group.  I didn't want to.  It was better than I expected which isn't saying much.  There were mixed reactions at the discussion.

You are right.  I seemed to remember it being closer to Berkeley.

I thought SILVER BAY was predictable and too long.  I had never read Moyes and read 2 in a row - the other was THE GIVER OF STARS.  Many of my friends love her writing, but I think I’ve had enough for now.

You don't need to get out of the car to enjoy the beautiful homes ;)

I enjoy her books.  I also understand your reaction to them.  I think her best book is ME BEFORE YOU.  I am currently reading "The Book Woman of Troublesome Creek" by Kim Michele Richardson which you might prefer over "Giver of Stars".

I'm now in the midst of printing invoices for Amazon.co.uk, and Paypal.  I'll do Amazon.com tomorrow because I need time to weed out all the cat products that I cannot deduct.

Oh, dear Lord - the alarm did not go off at ten-thirty and I just got up - fourteen hours later - guess I needed that but I did NOT need to lose an entire day.

I suspect he just blocked that Kevin (former manager, etc.), too, who made another attempt to get through to him.

Should I have said a ticket?  Are you going to SF with a friend or on your own?

My book group read the Richardson book last fall.  Most of us thought it had a truer “ring” than Moyes’.

I suggested the book to my book group and no one was interested.  Later they all jumped on the Moyes book which I had already read.

Well, I've completely moved into my new area, but of course, nothing's organized, yet.  It'll be a while before I do. ;)

Here's what it looks like...for now:

Me, too...but then, it wasn't really organized in my previous area, at all. ;)

Well, I'm not thrilled about having missed an entire day and I'm entering fixes as fast as I can, but...

I made some faux chicken stroganoff rather than go sit somewhere and eat.

My brother Randy called me yesterday afternoon, angry that I had called the realtor.  It takes all my willpower to not remind him that this property mess has been going on for thirteen years now, thanks to him and Macbeth.

How rude (of your brother)! >:(

Thanks, Larry!  I'm in my new space!  Everything's still in boxes, so it'll be a while before I can go through and eliminate all the unnecessary papers. ::)
