The Hollywood Hits concert was a mix of good and dull. The symphony is strange. They can play Ravel like nobody's business and handle Antheil and Weill, but they don't seem interested in John Williams.

They did great with the theme from Laura, a surprise, and a trio of Mancini songs, but John Berry's music from Out of Africa was lackluster.

Watching Rudy Ray Moore, Mr. Dolemite himself, in a flick called Disco Godfather.

It seems angel dust has hit the streets and too many people are suffering from it. That leaves Moore as the owner of the local disco with no option but to clean up the streets.

Today is the second week birthday of our precious granddaughter.  Thank goodness for instant photos.

Um, we haven't seen any instant photos here.

I am not permitted to put any on the internet :(

Maybe I'm not being clear here: Stocking up on food, i.e. SHOPPING at the supermarket, is a very different thing than everyone making a run on supermarkets or stores due to hysteria.

And sorry, the idiot who posted the story about Disneyland should have absolutely said it was Tokyo.  You know how moronic people are on Facebook and I guarantee you 90% of the people who saw that headline assumed it was here.

Back from our show.  So good to have our leading lady back and I must say she was at her best, which is considerable.  Peyton was a bit weird in act one, but she did a great act two.  Sound levels were completely off and way too low, so in addition to corrupting our lighting file (thankfully fixed before tonight) someone also clearly screwed with the sound board.  I'm hopping mad about it and trying to rile Doug up to take a much tougher stance because clearly his strongly-worded e-mail about all this had no effect whatsoever.  I can't babysit the show, the stage manager can't hear the sound levels properly from the booth, and Doug may or may not know something is amiss, although he knew the sound was way low.  I had the SM raise the volume for act two, so that was better, but the sound designer, for the second time, now has to come in and see what they messed up and put it back the way it was.

At the mail place, this absolute moron was sending 100 surgical masks to friends in NY and bragging about how he cleaned out all the stores near him.  I mean, those mask are not going to protect anyone and the hysteria that Facebook is drumming up, fueled by the media, is causing a lot of unnecessary panic and causing people like this guy to behave like idiots.

Well, BK, the World Health Organization is, also, doing their part to inflame the masses.

The bartender, who was not actually bartending when we ordered our drinks, made Keith's Manhattan for him and gave me a very generous serving of Glenlevit.  She delivered our drinks & chatted a bit.  We had no clue, however, she was very exciting to share the number of days she has gone without alcohol.  She has been attending AA and, understandably, very proud of herself.

That is great!  Good for her.

Some moron on Facebook posts a headline that reads: Disneyland closing because of Coronavirus.  Feeding hysteria, is the idea, of course, since the headline doesn't mention that it's TOKYO Disneyland not here, and this asscrack shared it to make people think it was here.  I called him out on it and I'm about to have one less Facebook friend.  I really cannot stand the stupidity about this thing, it's beyond belief.  Someone else I know actually posted that they'd stocked up on food and dry goods and supplies.  Why?  What the HELL is wrong with everyone?  It's a virus, the flu.  You get the flu, most get better as most have with this thing.  You get the flu and if you're elderly with a failing immune system you die.  And that is what the majority of deaths are attributed to.  No one wants to know facts, they just believe whatever crap comes across their feed.  I'm truly beginning to think that we are at the end of a normal society.

Bruce, you have to be quarantined for two weeks.

They are suggesting that people have a two week supply of all their medications, in case they have to be quarantined.

My friend Todd and I are seeing Dionne Warwick tonight.  He interviewed her recently.  In case anyone's interested here's link:

http://cabaretscenes.org/2019/12/19/a-conversation-with-dionne-warwick/http://cabaretscenes.org/2019/12/19/a-conversation-with-dionne-warwick/

I saw Dionne at Harrah’s in Reno back in 1972 or 73.  She was wonderful, but I was really shocked about all of her joking about her marijuana smoking.  It wasn’t talked about much back then, unless you were Chechen & Chong.

I'm able to order three-month supplies for mine.
