So, I'm waiting for a DAR phone call from someone who said she'd call me "sometime after 10am."  Good thing I don't have anything else to do today...

I am a bit late starting here this morning because I put a NEW HDTV Antenna on the television in the computer room hoping to pick up a few more channels.....and it was a success.  I did have to keep unplugging it to get the wires right - so I had to scan it every time I unplugged it......

BUT now I can get Antenna TV and a couple of other locals channels that I couldn't get with the other flat antenna....

Kitty cleanup is finished.  My wonderful neighbor Ann, who had the brunch last Sunday, carried up the 40 lbs of kitty litter last night and it was waiting outside my door this morning.  I am very grateful for that.  She and her partner Jen were scheduled to go to Italy for vacation the last weeks of March and now they're not sure what to do.

That was very sweet of her.

Here's a horrible surprise! Peter Saide who played the Sheriff in Desperate Measures, which DRs Ginny, ChasSmith, and vxmom and I saw together, has doed at the age of 36.  He was very talented.

I saw that last night.  An absolute tragedy.  He was so young and so talented.  I will listen to my Desperate Measures cd today in his memory

I read on Facebook that his death was caused by a blood clot in his leg following spinal surgery.

The new film of Jane Austen's Emma is playing on 68th Street.  I may try to see this over the weekend.  City Center did not pay me this week, so I will noty be making vegetable soup since I don't have the money to hit the Big Supermarket.  I hate it when they pull this.  I never know if Joshie was late submitting invoices or someone's behind in payroll.

I would have expected the high cost of movies in NY would equal the cost of ingredients for vegetable soup.   How much is a movie there?

With the new system I will have 3 days to check out the book once it becomes available, or I can request a delay for 7 or more days.

I actually think that this is much better. Otherwise people could be getting the ebooks for 3 weeks when they aren't even going to read them. Some people could be reserving a lot of ebooks. This way the library knows that the person actually plans to read the book. Just get in the habit of checking your account every day.

I agree.  It just makes it hard for me.  This was how books were originally checked out, and I missed a number of them.  I remember having to ask Craig to check out a few books for me since I couldn't access them.

Fortunately wifi is more available when we travel than it used to be, still we have been without it for days at a time when we travel.

Back from a breakfast, picking up a package and an important envelope, banking, and I'll join Grant at two to work and then have a bite to eat.

I left the orchestra reading at 2:00, when they broke for lunch.  I was enjoying the music - Love Life has got great songs - but I didn't want to walk from the Hudson river up to 11th Avenue in the dark and cold on a leg I don't trust.  I had a nice visit with Kim Kowalke, the director of the Kurt Weill Foundation.  I like him very much and I hadn't seen him in years, although we occasionally email each other.

DR Ginny, we saw The Queen on one of my 2006 visits to see my dad before he died, but I cannot remember what season it was!

Well, I was going to say July or November, because it was when Richard was in Wisconsin for his quarterly seminary residency.  IMDB says the movie was released in the US on November 17, 2006, so it must have been then.  I think we also saw The Devil Wears Prada in the summer of 2006.

At the mail place, this absolute moron was sending 100 surgical masks to friends in NY and bragging about how he cleaned out all the stores near him.  I mean, those mask are not going to protect anyone and the hysteria that Facebook is drumming up, fueled by the media, is causing a lot of unnecessary panic and causing people like this guy to behave like idiots.
