Oh my. This seems almost unbelievable.

RIP Max von Sydow, 90.

My aunt once said she thought maybe appliances and even medical stuff from decades ago were made to last, but in recent decades, the products were (intentionally) built to eventually wear out so that a new one might be needed.

My aunt had been a technical in charge of a department as Coney island Hospital and felt a difference in durability happening over time.

Given how your lyrics somehow reflect decades of time and eras and attitudes in the US, is there any chance it might be a valid nominee for certain awards -

or are lyrics not eligible as poetry?  Larry nommed a show for the theater Pulitzer.  If the book is what it sounds like, and knowing the high quality and BK's position in the industry, maybe ti couldn't hurt - maybe submit as commentary if not poetry?

I spent many hours watching von Sydow in Bergman’s films. And he was in the marathon viewing I made yesterday. He gave an effectively creepy performance as an obsessed scientist.

From Bruce:
Quote
I'm not sure about Judy - she friended me at some point.

She graduated with us and Keith knew her from jr. high.

When we were in Manchester she was visiting a half sister about an hour away and met us for lunch and we got to know her better.

Oh my GAWD. Why is the second morning of a time change worse than the first?

Because it is a week day.

Of course I know the answer to that. It's because for most people, a typical Sunday is generally not as challenging a day as most Mondays.

Mondays are merciless.

Which leads me back to my standard musing of:  Why in the name of all that's holy, and some that isn't, don't "they" put the time change on Friday night instead of Saturday, thereby giving the populace TWO days in which to adjust before the Monday slam?

Great idea.  Or they could stop doing the time change.

I've known that for years!  It's called "built-in obsolescence."

Washington did vote to leave us on Saving time but I would rather be left on Standard time.

And to think we got practically NOTHING all year. A couple of small-to-medium size storms early on, and that's it. Our February has got to have broken some records.

Monday afternoon greetings!  It’s a very spring-like day here in SW Ohio.  Richard and I went out earlier and ordered new mattresses for the trundle bed frames we inherited from my mom.  They’ll be in the bare-bones guest room we’re creating upstairs, just in time for Rob and Mary Linda’s visit in a couple of weeks.

Is this the space that used to be their living quarters?
