I am so actively bored of people on Facebook right now.  All they can do is talk about how they can't find eggs, or they had to endure the market with 200 others (some social distancing, that) to not find what they want, or hand sanitizer, and when you say something like "Anyone ever hear of this thing called soap?" they unhumorously pile on you and that includes two former dear readers this very day.  Here's the deal: If you've lost your sense of reality and/or humor, stay far away from me.

Except, Dear Bruce, you aren't joking when you mention soap.  It is appropriate if someone needs a ton of it for their home, however, when shown a small amount in a travel size bottle...sorry, not funny ;D

Says you.  But I do understand that everyone has lost their ability to have a sense of humor - not this kid.

Then we stopped at Trader Joe's and I stocked up on my artichoke hearts I like there.  Not hoarding, just buy extra jars like I normally do as we don't go there very often.

DR Jane, you may have ALL of my artichoke hearts.

Ooh, no. The Lutheran jokes might be over her head, but that sounds good.

I'll tell you the places that are not busy - gas stations.  Empty.  And yet these morons haven't dropped the prices as have everyone in every other state.  It's outrageous, especially right now.

Picked up a couple of packages, got Taco Bell for food, came home, ate it.  Terse, but factual.  There was a line of cars for the drive-through but only me and one other guy in the jernt, so yes, you can go inside and order but not dine in.  The other guy was masked and gloved, BTW.

Gas is $1.75 a gallon here and dropping daily. I’d rather have stronger retirement funds.

$2.13 per gallon here at Costco and BJ's.

That's down from $2.31 which had held steady for weeks. This decrease happened all within the past week.

Stells Gibbons, yes. But I like my mother. Why would I give her or anyone else Thomas Hardy? Sorry, but I loathed Tess, Jude the Obscure, The Well-Beloved and Return of the Native. And I liked those more than his poetry.

It's cold, windy, and wet here today, so I opted for staying home. I made a falafel sandwich, using the falafel I'd saved from yesterday's falafel salad for today's sandwich. I don't mind staying in for a day or two, but some officials are suggesting two MONTHS. I'd go nuts. Plus, I need food!

I am very concerned about this. We can no longer rely on our local markets to have much inventory and restaurants are hurting for customers. The supermarkets have customers, but limited inventory. The restaurants have food, but limited customers.

I'm running low on bottled water. Usually I'd pick up a bottle or two at Trader Joe's between Amazon deliveries, but Trader Joe's is not the place to be if you want social distancing. I ordered some from Amazon, but their supplies were low, too. The two items I purchased-- bottled water and magnesium gel--were both listed as Prime items, and yet my delivery date isn't until next Friday. It sounds like they're swamped.

I really do want to do more culling. Things pile up so quickly! I need to be in the mood for it, though, or I accomplish little. I'm still adjusting to the coronavirus fall-out and my concentration isn't the best right now.

From the BBC News:

... Jack Ma Foundation and the Alibaba Foundation last week announced that they had prepared 500,000 testing kits and 1 million masks to be sent to America.
They also said that they had already donated supplies to other countries including Japan, South Korea, Italy, Iran and Spain, with two million protective masks pledged for distribution across Europe.
The first consignment of 500,000 masks and other medical supplies such as test kits, which was destined for Italy, arrived in Belgium on Friday.
