Thinking about DR Elmore here, too, and hoping we’ll hear something soon.

I was thinking the same

Today is our 51st wedding anniversary.  It is a strange one.  As long as we are together is what counts.  While not the most exciting, it certainly isn't the worse one we have had.  We will be happy if it stays that way.

Oh I forgot about THE PALM BEACH STORY for McCrea and there's also SULLIVAN'S TRAVELS.....but that is a bit of a slog after TPBS.

FOREIGN CORRESPONDENT, an Alfred Hitchcock movie.

I watched Part One of the LAUREL CANYON documentary on EPIX last night.....it was so wonderful to see the films and especially to hear the music......

And I, too, thought about the song from LA NOW & THEN......

That Sondheim feller can certainly write for strippers. I’d never seen this staged.

I'm up, I'm up - six hours of sleep - will try for a couple more later.  Books have arrived, so I'll go get 'em shortly, then go back later if there's anything else.

I posted this late last night on Facebook:

In the how easy is it to get sucked into Facebook insanity department, ladies and gentlemen, I offer the following - it's longish but it has to be. At some point, someone named Rita Clinton friended me - fine, I accept most requests. I can't remember seeing a lot of her posts on my feed until recently, but this weekend two showed up, both of which contained things that weren't believable to me and both of which came from extreme right-wing sites (the first thing I do is research the site). On the first, it was easy to show that it was completely fake - several fact-checking sites had that and I shared the Snopes version. Then the second thing appeared and I frankly don't even remember what the story was, but same deal. So, I posted this: "Yeah, I'm sure this right-wing site is absolutely trustworthy. Sorry, Rita, you're gone."

A simple enough response, with the intention being that I was going to unfriend her. Before I could, a couple of her friends came after me, telling me not to talk to her like that. I refer you to the post above. They suggested I'd have to block all her friends if I talked to her like that (I refer you to the post above), and I said that my intention was to simply unfriend her. That should have been the end of the story and I, in fact, did unfriend her right then, so I wouldn't have to see her nonsense ever again in my feed. At one-thirty in the morning she PMs me that she's reported me to Facebook for threatening her life. I'm not makin' this up, folks. My simple response was, "Are you insane??? Show me the post." That took a whole lot of time but she shared the post above. I, of course, explained what I think was the clear meaning behind it and that no such life threat was made, and that I was going to send the entire PM conversation to Facebook (which I'm finding it's not possible to do).

But that's not the end, folks, on it goes. She then posts on the Kritzerland page, which I'm about to share with you. I could have nuked it but I thought I should just lay it out for all to see. Here's what she posted:

"Rita Clinton‎ to Kritzerland

Just want to let people know what kind of a person Bruce is in private...... He trolled my timeline and said the following: "Bruce Kimmel Yeah, I'm sure this right-wing site is absolutely trustworthy. Sorry, Rita, you're gone."
I have reported him to the authorities, because I feel the last sentence he wrote on timeline is threatenting. Who in their right mind would tell someone they are gone?

And here is my response:

Kritzerland

Kritzerland I could just nuke this comment, but I feel this is the kind of Facebook insanity that needs to be addressed, so I'm happy to respond: Rita has been posting things from right-wing sites on her page - she friended me at some point and I just have had it with those things showing up on my feed (I don't "troll" anyone's timeline - this crap shows up in one's feed, as you know). So, I posted exactly what she quotes above. "Yeah, I'm sure this right-wing site is absolutely trustworthy. Sorry, Rita, you're gone." Meaning what? Well, pretty simple: you're gone from my feed because I'm unfriending you, which I actually said elsewhere in that thread. So, she messages me and tells me she's reported me for threatening her life. I kid you not, folks. I think my "you're gone" was pretty easy to understand, but you just can't make this stuff up, folks. Sorry, Rita, you owe me an apology. Thankfully, I have saved the PMs should I need them.

Now, we've gone from reporting me to Facebook to reporting me to the authorities and in the texts she actually uses the phrase, "Thank God I have connections." Now, I'm thinking, if anyone is threatening anyone it seems to not be me, but her.

I don't know if any of you know her, but you might want to suggest that she's more than a little out of line here. I thought it would be good to have this out there because this is how nutty things have gotten on Facebook and how easy it is to get sucked into things. Hoping for a nice June, with hope and light being the order of the day.

Rita, Rita, eat some pita.

Pita, BTW, is name of a friend’s cat. It stands for Pain in the A—.

Apparently, protesting on Ventura Blvd. today - this all seems very carefully targeted and planned to me.  I pray there is no looting and fires.

That’s really exciting. I’m so looking forward to holding a copy of this and to read it again.

Cramp-free vibes for your hand.

Just got out of my last 1:1 meeting with my boss. I’m really going to miss her, and not just because she would get a reference to a lyric from Follies or Little Shop.
