TOD:

I often express what turn out to be unpopular opinions about movies, plays, and performers right here on HHW.  I can tell when they are unpopular, because I get not ONE comment on said opinions....which is okay.

I just imagine DR ELMORE and MR BK and DR VIXMOM and DR CHAS SMITH and DR JOHN G [among others] shaking their heads and saying:
"Bless his heart....."

It’s more like, “Bless his pea-pickin’, little heart ...”

TOD:

I’m not a fan of the original three Star Wars movies, so I have skipped the rest. Ditto Indiana Jones.
I’m no longer a fan of comic book movies. I read Marvel hand-me-downs as a kid and loved them. But what a self-righteous bore those movies are.
I’m not a fan of comedies in which the premise is the humiliation of someone in order to get laughs. So, nothing in the Fokkers vein.

I’m sure I’ll come up with more.

I agree with you on the humiliation-as-humor movies.  Just don't care for those, at all. :P I've really liked the Marvel movies, but I haven't had any interest in seeing any of the DC movies.  Those seem like they're just too dark.  But I do love the original three Star Wars movies.  I like the sequel trilogy, but didn't really care for the prequels.

Got some of my stuff done. Plenty more to go.

In the meantime, I'm listening to this Kings of Broadway thing:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WhJDw-bfSn8&feature=youtu.be

I've seen a few complaints about it being not all that great, but I'm halfway through it and liking much of it. I've skipped a couple of songs that I don't know or didn't care to sit through. But I really like a few of the people whose names I didn't know, the pianist is absolutely tops, and it's well done technically.

So far.

On to Act 2.

LOL DR JOHN G.

TOD:

I will just say here:

BRIDESMAIDS

IMELDA STAUNTON

MY FAIR LADY - the movie

PIXAR MOVIES - well they all seem to be the SAME movie with different characters

Any version of THE LION KING

Harrumph!  <sputter>   That does it.  Where's that UNFRIEND button?

I agree on My Fair Lady the movie. See BK’s recent comment on George Cukor.

And I agree on all Pixar movies, except for the Toy Story franchise.

Seeing the trumpet player bliss out during the Gypsy overture gave me goosebumps. Never thought I could enjoy that piece any more, but watching him was a thrill. I enjoed a lot of the rest.

Our front door buzzer has been dead since Sunday, so we need to go to the lobby to pick up any deliveries or whatever.  I have been down twice today, and I am not amused.

Tonight I ordered dinner from Luke's Lobster, and it was wonderful: lobster mac'n'cheese and a trio of crab, shrimp, and lobster rolls. At the moment I am craving apple pie or apple turnover, but I'd settle for strawberry shortcake if I had any.

My birding buddy is still in the hospital. I have only had a couple of texts from her. She likes to be left alone when she's not feeling well.

I’m having leftover cucumber-radish salad for dinner.

We sent Bryan a package awhile ago.  The tracking number shows it has been sitting in the post office for days now.  Bryan said there hasn't been mail for about 5-6 days with the riots. He also also heard their post office was looted :(

I went to the hairdresser today for the first time since early March. Richard and I both wore masks, but many did not. Even with things rearranged a bit to allow more distance and altered schedules, there were still too many people to my liking. I may have to rethink things.

I also stopped at my favorite food store for the first time. No more salad bar--no surprise. No more reach-into-the-case bakery items. No almond croissants. I stocked up where I could.

And earlier this morning I was able to find -- and buy -- toilet paper! There was plenty on the shelf at Ralph's, but very few paper towels. They no longer sell bagels. All pastries are packaged in plastic, but they still have birthday cakes and such.
