Well, you've read the notes, the notes had Liszts of classical music used for pop songs, and now it is time for you to post until the Lisztless cows come home.

Today will be a day.  I'll go to work and then at about 1:15 PDT, I'll leave for my lunch time and go pick up my new glasses!  I like the ones that I currently have, but since I've had them for four years, and my eye plan allows a certain amount for frames every two years, I'm getting new frames as well as lenses.  Also, this means that I'll be able to have five, count 'em, FIVE different "looks" when I do more theater...AND be able to actually see (for the most part)! :D I'll post pictures, as soon as I pick them up.

I am quite groggy this morning.  I slept well until around 4:00AM, when Stella began pestering me.  I never got back to sleep.  When kitty cleanup is over and the bed is made, I'll take a nap with the cats.

It's going to be a rainy day so my trip to the post office will be postponed.  My walking's bad enough when the sidewalks are dry, so I'll avoid being outside in the rain.

BK, I'm enjoying Simply quite a lot, and I really love the stories about their raison d'etre.  What I'm wondering is, have you given any thought to an album of one or two discs of a lot of these songs?  I would love it.

Or perhaps a revue that could be recorded?

Ask BK

I’ve been looking for Out of the Box musicals but they seemed to have disappeared from the internet. Can you direct me to where they are? The only thing I found was the trailer.

So, I was chatting on the phone with an actor last night who is doing one of my audio books. He lives in Hollywood.

(Remember, I'm in Austin.)

He tells me that the studios are pretty much closed.  There is virtually no film production...no theatre...

I know that the Academy Awards have been postponed.

Broadway is closed.

Come the Fall, what are we going to be watching on television?

Old movies?

Re-runs of old shows?

How may people who work in the entertainment industry are going to be able to stay in it, let alone survive?

I'm having no problem these days getting good actors to do my audio books, except when the four productions I'm currently doing are finished, I'll be out of books.

Seriously: I just wonder if the entertainment industry will ever come out of this.

And, with that splash of cold water in the face, I will get on with my day.

There's also Anya, from Rachmaninoff, which I think I've only listened to once.

Agree! And I thought the same while reading it. That would be an invaluable supplement. I always want to see music, too, and I was very happy to find that the photo sections included some.

The workers are right outside the room I usually work in. Had to move. The sawing, hammering and drilling was too much.

General clean up is over, and the cats and I can retire to my bed where we shall be completely slothful and self-indulgent, watching a bit of TV and dozing when we choose.

I just heard a "singer" named Storm Large sing Cole Porter's "I've Got You Under My Skin."  She shows next to no awareness of how the melody actually goes and appears to be making her own version up as she goes along.  It's absolutely dreadful.

Is there a link to this? It sounds marvelous.

If this pandemic had been dealt with correctly we would not be as bad off as we are.  I read that the the US was rated as the best country in the world prepared for a pandemic and Britain second.

There is a short wooded path we often walk these days.  In the middle there is room to move is someone is walking towards us from the opposite direction.  At the two ends the people entering always back out to let the folks already in the path exit.

Yesterday as we were exiting a couple came jogging up.  Keith was in front of me and said he kept putting his hands up for them to stop, which they did not.  By the time they got to me the woman, who was in front, finally begins jogging in place and offers for me to go past her.

While clinging to the side of the trees as far from her as possible I grouched at her she had already come through.
